    towing 5th wheel with 1500

Maybe try listing your truck on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. You never know you may find someone looking for your exact truck. An old timer car salesman told me once. “There’s an ass for every seat”

    Engine cuts out while stopping

Trans filter or filter seal defective or installed incorrectly will cause the same symptom even if the fluid is full

    Engine cuts out while stopping

Low transmission fluid level will cause what you are describing, the fluid sloshes when you brake, causes the trans pump to suck air, creates an imbalance in the torque converter and the converter clutch to apply

Unhappy with 1500 towing. Need Help

Another question I always had was, With any transmission 1 to 1 is the most efficient ratio. least amount of power loss through the transmission, why do they make all modern transmissions with overdrives? Why not make an 8 speed with top ratio 1 to 1 and put really high rear end gears? I asked...

Unhappy with 1500 towing. Need Help

That's a good question I've wondered that myself, maybe a hold over from the way they have always rated trucks? or they don't want people complaining their truck wont tow their trailer 62mph in 6th gear:) I don't know.

Unhappy with 1500 towing. Need Help

I guess it comes down to the Original posters main concern, Truck revs to 2700 rpm towing at 62mph or that it will only tow his trailer in 5th gear at 62 mph. 392,s would let him tow 62mph in 6th gear but he would still be turning 2700 rpms. I guess the other advantage for him would be...

Unhappy with 1500 towing. Need Help

Not to get in the middle of a ******* contest, but you are correct. Torque multiplication can happen in the rear end or in the transmission, really makes no difference where With the old 3 and 4 speed autos there was much bigger ratio gap in the trans between gears and lower rear end gears...

Unhappy with 1500 towing. Need Help

I read most of the replies in this thread, To the OP. 2700 RPM towing your camper is perfectly fine and to be expected, if your truck handles the trailer braking, no swaying etc in my opinion there is no need to get a 2500. If you really dislike the rpms, the answer would be a 2500 Cummins...

    Transmission issues/truck value

1st thing to check is make sure the throttle pressure is working and adjusted properly. Crawl under the truck, on the drivers side of the trans there is 2 levers going into the case of the trans. The bottom lever moves when you shift from park to R,N,D,L. The top lever is throttle pressure and...

    P0871 not valve body

The PCM is bolted to the drivers side of the Engine Block. The Wiring plug for the transmission is on the drivers side of the trans.

    P0871 not valve body

Check for spread terminals on that circuit at the solonoid and PCM first. Hard to do without a pin fitment gauge. If ok, Not an easy task, but if you could get a hold of a wiring diagram, swap the O.D pressure switch circuit with another pressure switch circuit at the solonoid pack and at the...

    2500 vs. 3500srw ride?

Also I use the A/C machine to evacuate the system and put a vacuum in the system to to help boil off any moisture in the system before recharging with 2 ounces of air break ant freeze and recharge with fresh nitrogen, the compressor supposedly has a desiccant in it to absorb moisture

    2500 vs. 3500srw ride?

Yes, I think the valves in the compressor freeze. In theory there should be no moisture in the system as they are filled with nitrogen. The dumb part is they will use outside air if the nitrogen level drops as in a slow leak. I think they did this to reduce warranty expense to hide very small...

    2500 vs. 3500srw ride?

They did come out with a supposed revised compressor, multiple part number changes, that was supposed to help, but Ive had issues with them as well
