I'm nearing 800 idle hours and 100,000 miles. My oil analysis was near prefect. But I don't have MDS. I'm not convinced it's actually the long idling that causes it to fail. Sure, maybe the cop cars. I'm sure they are 7 hours of idle to 1 hour of drive.... but personally, I think it's multiple...- Zack02

Yes, I get what you're saying. Your point is the delta for what it sells for now vs then will be a couple thousand or +/- equal to what you would 'loose' on the depreciation on a new truck. So it doesn't matter if sells now or later. The value/money is not realized either way, and thus does not...- Zack02

Maybe. Depends where you are at. I paid $25,000 for mine in 2017. I sitting in my Ford lot picking up a buddy and Ford offered me $23,000 cash, "more if I wanted to trade-in." I looked at a 2-year old Ford with 40,000 miles and it was only a couple grand less than sticker on a new one. Truck...- Zack02

Correct, the replacement does not get welded. Just make sure it's not welded before you drive off the lot... It's not really their job to know all of details about all of the recalls and service work, imo. Mine told me mine was 'beefier' than what they're install...but they're same part...- Zack02

As directed by RAMcares...My truck is getting inspected tomorrow by a local dealer to create and close a "Repair Order." Seems like they're still willing to reimburse for anyone else who took a long time to submit like I did.- Zack02

Maybe, Im just confused or they are...I replaced this myself back in March of 2020 when they still were doing the weld repair...there's no work order. I sent them pictures of it on my truck with the old one off.- Zack02

That's literally my point, lol. It was designed and tested using a 5w30. I WISH I would have save that grainy-ass old youtube video from like 2010 or 2011 where the engine's engineer comments on oil spec and literally says something alone the lines of "it was designed and test on 5w30." Red Line Synthetic Oil 0W-40 - has anyone tried it in the 5.7 HEMI?
I would agree with your w30 decision. I've ran PUP 0w40 since fall 2018-ish. If I were to switch to RL again, I would run 30. I find the PUP 40 stays a little more 'stable' longer under heavy loads and long idle. As you mentioned, it shears down to a 30 pretty quick, so I'm not that worried...- Zack02
