I know that this thread doesn't belong anywhere in the forums but I've been searching online with no luck. I need you classic car guys help with my high pressure power steering hose fitment.
I have a 350 engine in my nova. I put on a new ps pump. The nova ps high pressure hose fits onto the steering box like it should. It won't fit into the ps pump itself. So I go get a different ps pump, factory for 1978 nova, the fittings will fit but the ps steering pump won't bolt into the bracket/ mount. The bolts are too big. I'm keeping the fitted ps pump.

Seems like I can't have one without the other.
I'm not sure where the 350 engine came off of but the alternator is on the driver's side but the guys at the shop says it shouldn't make a difference in fitment. Any suggestions??

Take your old hose up to the parts store and match it up is your best bet. Sounds like a previous owner switched something up so now you have a frankenstein set up. Pumps and brackets changed along the years and at some point the high side pressure went up as well so they changed the fittings up too. Good luck.

Or see if you can find the correct bracket to go with the factory pump and you'll be back to stock (correct).

Or you can do what I'm doing and just go custom.. but from the sounds of it your Nova build isn't much like mine..

Just get an metric to AN adapter if the metric pump fits your set up
