Hey guys, my stock tires on my 1500 crew are shot they are on the stock 20" rims. Any good recommendations for replacements the stocks tires didn't wear well nor were that good in the rain, don't plain do to any off road or will ever see snow. Thanks in advanced Brad

Honestly any reputable tire manufacturer other than Goodyear would be a good choice. My truck has just under 14k and they're about half worn which is absolutely pathetic. Never had luck with Goodyears in the past either.

Personally I like the look of a good A/T tire on these trucks which is what I'm going to do. But mine sees a good amount of snow in the winter so it's worth it for me. I'm looking at Toyo Open Country AT2s. Low road noise and 60k treadlife.

I've had good luck with Cooper, BFG, Michelin, and Falken in the past so that's what I'm recommending.

When i replace my stock 20" Goodyears, I'm going to get Cooper Discoverer AT3. I've always had good results with Cooper.

Thanks guys, only other tire i've run was a nitto 402 but it was on a 22" rim. Tires are pretty much amazing but wanted to try something different. Agree on the comment of A/T do look good on these trucks but i'll never see that type of driving.

yeah the stocks tires really are garbage especially in the snow. currently have almost 27k km on mine and they are already half wore

recently changed the tires on the Silverado which had the same stocks as the Ram and i went with Firestone Destination A/Ts. they actually seem to handle better then the stocks and no extra road noise plus they seem to be wearing very well so far

when it comes time for tires on the Ram i plan to go with a winter rated all season but just like snow tires they do wear faster during summer

I worked tires/automotive for 10+ years...one of the tires that I routinely saw get great treadlife were the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenzas. It's a street-oriented tread with a UTQG rating of 640, if I'm not mistaken. I would regularly see these tires get 60k miles (with proper rotation/rebalance and alignment, of course).

Can I recommend Toyo Proxies S/T's... have had three sets. The first was on my Ford Lightning, and they really stick. The second set was on an 05 Ram short bed and I got nearly 70,000 miles before they needed replaced (and I don't spare the loud pedal). The third set was on an 11 Sport CC and had 49,000 when I traded it last month. they still had plenty of tread left and again, they stick to the road both dry or wet. Do extremely well in snow,, and are a joy to drive. They handle better than any other tire I've ever driven, and they look great. Just my .02 worth.

When the goodyears on my 15 go away, I will replace them with another set of Toyo's.

hi,

just got the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 in LT275/60R20 and love them.
I wanted them for look, LT rated for towing and light off road.
Was afraid of potential more noise but there is no difference to a good year wrangler IMO.

Next time I will make sure to have white letters on sidewall too !!!

Love my Cooper Discoverer AT3's in 275-65-20. Low noise, great grip, e-rated for towing, and should last 50K+ miles even towing.

Burn and Pickles....I wanna see pics or you don't have them..muahahaha.

Seriously, stock sucks a$$ and I'm dreading replacing my stick tires ar 25k and hating the though of spending that much on tires (mostly from dropping around $1200), but a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. Lol

Michelin LTX MS2's are great but not cheap.

What exact stock tires do you guys have that hate them? Mine are Goodyear Wrangler SR-A and I am impressed so far. The wet traction is usually scary with Goodyears but these have been fine.

great tires if your not looking for an aggressive offroad style tread. they were great in the snow too. only downfall is that they are directional. didnt bother me since they wore perfectly, but some people may not like that you cant rotate like you should.

BFG's have been my favorite, 70k on my last set and still had good tread, many many snow trips with that set. My tire guy says Toyo At's are the way to go, but I had great luck with bfg's for my uses. If I was younger I may opt for a MT and a different brand, but for highway driving and light snow, light offroad I like the BFG's.

i got 40,000 on my original good years and had over 40,000 on my old trucks original good years when i traded it in. i'm not a good year fan but these have been pretty good. i wanted the cooper AT3s (my wife has them on her jeep) but they were almost $200 more at $880. i got my good years at the local dodge dealer for $708

OEM may not be 'the greatest' but they are one of the least expensive to purchase.
All in all, pretty decent 'bang for the buck'.
I have no idea what I'll get when the time comes. I've ran MS2's before and like most any Michelin I've had, I was happy. Kinda turned off at 1200+ for 'em though.

As always,,, YMMV
