I am currently looking at trading in my 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie limited crew cab with a 5.7 liter Hemi for a 2015 or 2016 Ram 2500 Mega Cab Hemi 6.4. I love my current truck however I need a higher payload and would like the extra room in the backseat for 3 car seats. Are there any significant changes to the 2016 Mega Cab? From what I understand there are a few new color options, wheels, Grill. I am more concerned about significant differences with motor transmission or interior seating configuration. I switched over last year from owning Ford trucks for the past 10 years and don't know a lot about the Rams

Nothing big changes. The power train will remain the same with no significant changes to either the engine or transmission offered.

There will be a "stow and go" option for the rear seating area available as well as some display option tweaks on the 8.4N head unit. Also, look for some new wheel styles to be available across the Ram lineup in 2016.

so you know the crew cabs are rated for more hp/tq than the mega cabs, I think it is the way the test them but I could be wrong. Another note the crew cabs get the rear axel shock to help with potential wheel hop, and the Megas don"t. I love my mega but honestly my car seats never come out so the storage behind the seat is a little useless for me as I would have to remove both car seats, If I could go back I would of gotten a crew cab for the in the floor storage, but that's just me.

The engines are identical, the numbers are just lower because they are tested at a lower rpm than the crew cabs are.

Way off topic, but I went 2500 MegaCab 6.4 for 3 car seats, and it has worked out absolutely awesome...

Someone on here has shown you can can put 3 car seats in the back of a crew cab 2500 it just depends on the brand of the seats.

Guy on the cummins forum just got his 2016 in. Standard on the 2016 limited is the front park assist sensors. I have a limited 2015 and it's not on there. There's also a new thing in the console that appears to replace the business card holder with a cellphone pouch.

I went from a 2012 F150 to the 2014 Ram 1500. My only complaint is the loss of about 3 inches of rear leg room. My kids can now kick my seats and its cheaper to switch trucks than break their legs. I don't like the fact that the Megacabs don't have stow and go but they do offer about 3 inches of extra legroom

I have 3 Britax car seats (I am not sure if they make a "small" one as all 6 that we have are pretty big) in my current cc 1500, had them previously in my '10 2500 cc. 3 big car seats fit just fine in either.

Yeh, but yours can probably kick the seat backs. In the MC when they can reach them is them is about the time you can tell them to keep their feet off the seats.
