Is dodge/ram (respectively) the best truck you owned so far? Its my first new truck ever, and i can honestly say i liked my 2003 yukon more. Even though its not a truck.

I've owned many used trucks in the past, from a '58 Ford 3/4 ton, a '78 Ford and several 1st Gen Dodges, as well as a gaggle of work and personal GMC's Chevys.... I've had an '05 GMC Sierra bought new that at 85K the front end fell out of. Next up was an 08 RAM followed by a '10. Both were great, traded in the '08 because I fell in love with the 4th gen body style (the only better looking truck ever is the 78 Ford imo). Purchased my '13 following a traffic accident that destroyed the '10. Love my '13 so much, I plan on keeping it until there is a step-change in the design/build.... 17 maybe???

no issues so far, other than the standard recalls, (which every manufacturer is going to have), so yeah, the '13 is the best truck I've owned.

I've had a few fords as personal vehicles, F150 and two F250s. Used a bunch of GM and newer fords for work trucks in the past as well. I've owned a 2013 ram 1500 and my current 1500. I certainly like the tuck I have now. It rides better and works better than my ford half ton did. Fit and finish is nicer than the ford for sure. Any truck should last as long as you take care of it. There will always be exceptions like sbarron's GMC. Sometimes things fail.

My 2006 F250 was one of the better trucks I have driven. Updated coil front suspension, power, fuel economy, reliability (some might laugh at that), nice interior, quiet in cab. My ram has more paint issues with 79,000 miles than my F250 had at 230,000 miles. Overall happy with the truck though. Probably second or third favorite out of 7 vehicles.

Ford always made an all-around decent truck, where GM/Dodge in my experience tended to excel in certain areas and be poor in others. Essentially, they balanced-out but were weighted. I've had less overall issues with Fords than Dodges and only had one GM pickup. And the best truck I ever had was a Ford.

Before you think I don't hold Dodges in good regard, know the last two new trucks I've bought were Dodge. Whatever I get next, I'm keeping my literal and figurative white elephant because it's been my favorite truck. And I don't think we'll have manual transmissions much longer, let alone see one again behind a gas engine.

Honestly no. My favorite truck. Was my 2000 model Silverado 1500 Z71. I loved that truck. My dad bought it new. Then I bought it from him with 60k miles on it and drove it until 110k miles. Never had a issue with that truck. Now the honest part is the Ram is my second favorite part. And the only thing holding it back from the #1 spot is high price of aftermarket parts. Compared to all other brands.

I too loved my '78 Ford. 77-79 i thought were the best-looking trucks ever. A 460 or 351M though, no, I'll keep the new hemi, thrice the power and twice the mileage...lol

Over the years, I've had several 2nd Gen Rams. While I've had problems with all of them, on 3 of the trucks it was because I pushed the trucks beyond their limits on a regular basis - the 4th truck was used and abused by the previous owner and never maintained, so of course it was going to have problems. I'm loving my 4th Gen.

The couple of Ford trucks I've had were good trucks, but dealing with constant alignment issues and benign electrical gremlins all the time got annoying.

GM trucks? GM can suck my fuzzy balls and ********** after I eat Taco Johns and Chipolte... Last Chevy I had went up in flames with 600 miles on it and I lost 85% of what I paid for it. Considering their level of recalls over the last few years (and the current one for a little bolt that comes loose on the brake pedal that can cause brake failure), I'd never touch another POS GM...

And the biggest mistake I made was getting rid of my 99 SLT. I beat the living **** out of that truck every time I drove it. Went places with it I thought I'd need a tow to get out of - fording the river in 6 feet of water? No problem! Bouncing through 6 feet of mud? Lets do it, again and again and again! Frolicking through 6 feet of snow? Um, I'll get back to you on that one...

I have had several trucks in the last 40 years Chevy C10s and a ford ranger and by far the dodges i have owned sold me on them i have had 3 since 95 two Cummings diesel Duallys one new 95 i worked hauling boats across the country average gross weight each trip was 26,000 lbs combined never missed a lick, my 98 served me well from 2000-2012 till an electrical short [unknown cause] in the engine bay caused it to be totaled, my current Ram is a one owner 2001 Sport 4 x 4 and i'm very happy with it so far it has not let me down in 3 years. If i buy new it'll be a Ram [no Cummings tho] we have two at work and they are junk [The Cummings engine] always in the shop.

I will say that my current Ram is my favorite. I had 2001 chevy rcsb for 11 years, with no major problems. If my Ram lasts half as long, I will be a happy camper.

What made you go from a diesel all these years to a gasser?

my 03 fx4 lariat was by far the best of the 8 trucks i've owned.i picked it up in 05 as a lease return and saved 20 k over new. i ran it into the ground and it only left me stranded once.my alternator crapped out and i tried to make it home on battery .fail. i still got 6500 for it in a trade in for my 2500.it took a beating and refused to die.the only reason i traded it was the a/c died in the middle of july, and i took it in to get an estimate for some repairs.total estimate was a little over 5 k for all the little things.

In my 10yrs of driving I've only had 2 vehicles, this truck an a 96 ranger. An well I've never used both as trucks for the most part or needed to, both trucks have been very reliable for me. Put about 55,000 miles on this one with a lot of abuse as far as racing an just plain hard driving an other than the trans the some ***** has been solid. Hard for me not to get my next vehicle w/o a hemi

I bought a brand new 1988 Ford Ranger I was working at a Ford dealer at the time. I got rid of that truck with 145,000 miles on the original clutch. My next one was a new to me 94 Chevy 2500 with a 454. After that a1998 3500 crew cab 454. These 2 pulled my camper with no probem. But my current ride 2014 crew cab 1500 Hemi so far is my favorite.

As much as I liked my '09 1500 Hemi I can honestly say that my '12 2500 Cummins was my dream truck the first time I saw it. It is truly the best vehicle I have ever owned.
