Its about to be time for new tires! I'm kinda leaning towards the Cooper discoverer st maxx or the stt pro. But I'm curious to see what you guys have ran on your truck and liked, I'm looking for a decently aggressive tire that I can still go through mud and snow and not worry about it, but can still get some decent milage out of them before they need to be replaced, road noise isn't a concern for me

Sounds like people have had good results with Cooper, BFG etc.

Personally, and I have run many tires on my trucks over the past 10 years, I would stay away from any Nitto "Grapplers" unless you like replacing tires every 20-25K miles.

I was at a shop getting prices on the Cooper ST Maxx ($263) and AT3($210) and they showed me the Mastercraft Courser MXT ($235) and I kinda liked it too. However I don't have experience with anything other than AT3 on other HD trucks. My tire guy always stands by his Coopers.

I ran the original Cooper STTs in a 35x12.5 and they were great but wore quick, about 20,000 miles! Instead of trying the new version, the STT Pro, I decided to give the Mastercraft MXTs a try bc they are made by Cooper buy are $85 cheaper per tire! If I get 20,000 miles out of them I am still ahead. Not to mention they look badass and so far about 5000 miles in, they are great!

I'm a big fan of Destination A/T's. I have run them on a few vehicles, they were really good for traction and longevity.

Ever since I had a set of the **** cepek fc-ii I have been a fan of this brand. My cousin has a set of their new trail country a/t on his 2013 f150 4x4 and they are wearing great. He has 40k on them and no road noise what so ever. Also have lots of tread left. I was totally impressed when I rode in his truck a few weeks ago. These will most likely be the kind I will get when my factory ones wear out. Which doesn't look like very far from now. My rears are a little under halfway wore with only 5k miles. I don't drive my truck a lot but when I do its hauling our camper which is the culprit. I would get the new fun country but I want a quieter ride. Maybe look into the **** cepek fun country that they released a couple years ago. I will add that I had a set of Mastercraft axt on my wife's jeep grand cherokee amd they were very noisy after about 8k miles on them. Not a good kind of noise that you would expect a ear piercing howl at around 40 mph. These were rotated every oil change at 5k also. I ran Mastercraft a/t on our old jeep liberty they were a decent tire but again got noisy after some miles were put on them. But traction was always good.

Mastercraft has a cxt tire now, comparable to the St maxx. I've been eyeing the kanati trail hog by greenball tire.

About how many miles did you get out of them?

They are still running strong on my Silverado after about 17,000 miles. Still look almost new. Good tread depth and not any louder than they were when new. Some of the other aggressive tires I have had got extremely loud after they were half worn (GY Duratracs). I haven't had the ST MAXX on anything else. Previously had a set of Cooper Discoverer ATPs and a Set of Cooper MTs and they all ran really well. I did have very good luck with **** Cepek Fun Country II on my previous truck. I turned away from them because they aren't commonly in stock at the local big box tire place.

Hope this helps.

Firestone Destination M/T I have run them on many different vehicles and always got good milage out of them and they look good. Also I am a Tech and we sell a lot of coopers and have good luck with them

Has anyone had any experience with either the Michelin LTX AT2 or the Hancook Dynapro ATM? I drive 25-30k each year, and really don't want to put a set of tires on every 18 months.

The Michelin LTX AT2 wore better than any other tire I've ever tried. Good highway manners as well. My only big issue with them is they started to develop dryrot cracks after a couple of years. Also, snow traction was just ok and they don't look as good as some of the more aggressive all terrain tires.

Yeah, there are better looking, more aggressive treads that I would prefer. But gotta compromise--I ran the LTX MS2's in 10 ply on my suburban and got 100k from each set (2) that I put on there. I doubt this truck would allow that same lifespan, but I'll probably give the AT2's a try and hope the harder compound Michelin uses will give me 60-70k.

I hate buying tires. I'm running either 35-12.50-18 or I also have a set of 325-60-20 on my 2014 4x4. I just with someone made a big offroad tire that I could get more than 12,000-15,000 miles out of. I average about 25,000+ miles a year.

Oh, there used to be a thread on tires that we had going a year or 2 ago that had a link in it. It had the break down of tire size meaning. And when you clicked on your rim and then selected your tire size. It took you to another page that showed you a ton of tires in that size. Anyone have that link by chance.

I've given up on off-road only tires. They don't last with my kind of driving. I do most of my driving on pavement, so I will stick with Michelins or something similar. Other tires look much better, but I don't want to have to spend $1,000 every 20,000miles (10-11 months).

That's me. I've changed tires almost as frequent as I have my underwear. Lol. I'm almost tempted to go back to something closer to stock size instead of 35's. But that's only a little over 1.5" difference in height.
