I just realize i never did a build thread here at ramforum. So I'd like to do one. Im not a big picture taker so I don't have a lot of pictures of the progress made but I do have a few here and there.

2006 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 1500 4.7l
Brilliant Black Metallic (PXR)

Here is the only photo I took before I did any major mod to the ram. I believe this pic was takin a week after I bought the truck. I just had the windows tinted and debadged it.

This is right after I installed the Mcgaughy's 2/4.5 lowering kit. This was before my forum days. Didnt even know what they were lol. Still had the original Goodyear HP's on

I didn't do a lot of mods for awhile until i joined a few forums after reading about programmers for the 4.7l. Then that's when I got the mod disease.

I was offered a deal from I guy I knew that had a ram that was the same color as mine. He was selling his truck to an old man and he wasn't going to buy it looking like it did. His loss. He offered me a Apm ram air hood with a black grille, roll pan, sport mirrors, an undercover bedcover for trade for all my stock stuff and some money. Well I took the deal and this was the outcome of that. The hood was previously on a Daytona truck and he never got around to painting it. It actually looked mean against the black.

I had the hood painted.

Thanks dude. I ordered it through where I work. It's called a Footlocker box. I used 4 of those self tapping 3/8 hex head screws in each corner to mount it. I really like it.

Looks good! I've been debating about the Efan mod, any tips for that swap? Also like the bezel swap, how do you get the old off? I'd like to paint mine as well. Keep up the good work!

It has been a minute since I've been on here. Thanks for all the love! I haven't done much more other than remove all the plasti dip from my wheels(PITA) and install my 2800 edge converter. I have taken a new job since I last posted so I don't have the time I did. Best part of my new job is I paint & repair wheels now so painting my wheels is next on my list. I just need to figure out if I want a matte black look or go with a gloss.

It was a pretty simple swap. I used the flex-a-lite kit which came with ever thing to mount and wire up the fan. The hardest part was getting the old clutch fan off of the pulley.

On the radio/nav bezel. On mine there were 2 7mm screws on the underside of the bezel. To access them you need to open the cup holder and almost lay down to see them. There is one on each side. After those are out the rest of the bezel is just clipped in. You will have to tug on the bezel for it to pop loose. After it is loose then unplug your a/c, cig ports, 4x4, etc..

Ah, ok. Did you also paint the wood-grain piece of trim on each inner door panel? If so, how did you remove it?

Keep up the good work!

Yes I did, with VHT nightshade lol. I was going for the smoked wood grain look but decided it was still ugly and put enough coats to cover it all. Anyway, The wood grain panel has 2 plastic pins that is actually melted into the door panel. You will see it once the door panel if off. I removed as much of the melted part as I could without damaging the the plastic pin. It's hard to explain with out any pictures. But The pins on the wood grain panel are hollow. So what I did to reinstall it was instead of remelting it on, because there is not much left to melt. I found a corse screw that fit inside the hollow portion and used a spacer so it would pull the panel tight against the door panel like it once was. It's been done for almost 5 or 6 years and it is sill holding strong. And if I ever want to repaint it I can just easily remove the screws.

Ah, I think I understand what your talking about. Good idea! Thanks for the advice.

How do you like the 4:56 gears? What kinda rpm do you turn on the highway?

No problem. I loved the gears. It was night and day difference. At 55mph I was roughly around 1900-2000 and at 70mph I was around 2400rpms. Unfortunately I swapped back to my 3.92s because they started to howl a bit after almost 8,000 miles on them. Not sure what happened. But honestly it still pulls great with the edge torque converter. It will easily roast both tires from a dead stop with no stalling it up. So I'm still happy.

Well guys the time has come. I've decided I'm going to be getting rid of the ram. We had a little one in January and the wife has no room in her vehicle (Kia soul). You have to pull the seats all the way up to make the car seat fit right. Then your in the dash hoping the air bag doesn't deploy. Not safe at all. So we are going to sell both and get one ride for the time being. We have been looking at the new Durangos. I've always settled for second best so this time I'm getting an r/t with no chrome. Maybe a white or silver one.

I know it's hard to determine but what do you guys think it's worth? It just rolled over 100k. No issues other than a few cosmetic flaws that I may fix before it does go on the market. Book value stock says 10-11k. Everything on it goes with it, except the trinity.

I need to update this.

It's been a year and I still have my Ram. I took a job with a mobile wheel repair business (AWRS). I ended up selling the Kia and getting a 13 Durango. I've since drove the Ram maybe 2,000 miles since I'm provided a company truck. Buuuuttt I did drop the Ram a few more inches for total of 4/6.. here's a few pics I've taken recently.

Unfortunately no hemi but the wife wanted this one but promised I could do what I wanted to it.
