For those of you that have the shifter knob on the dash, do you like it? Also is it hard to get used to having that over a regular selector?

I like it. It took me about a week or so to stop reaching for a center console shifter.

It didn't take long to get used to for me, I like it. It also opens up a little space.

I like it. Only reached for the lever once. Not nearly as bad as being used to driving a stick, reaching for the lever then jamming the brake pedal thinking it's the clutch. Do that once at speed and you learn a lesson quickly.

Been having my 2015 knob shifter for a year now after getting out of a 2013 center shifter for 2 years. I STILL reach for my center shifter knowing darn well I don't have one, lol! Guess I was just used to mainly resting my hand on it while I drove.

Center console shifter is a waste of space in an automatic, but I do like it on the tree.

Like it a lot. Unfortunately i'm trading in 1500 for a 3500 and not looking forward to have the shifter on the steering column. Wish it was in the floor console.

Hate it. the radio knob and the fan are very similar and I turn them to shift. I try to shut the truck off with it in gear and try to exit the truck with it in gear and running. I guess I don't think about it because in my mind I didn't put it gear I just turned a knob. I don't drive this daily either so that could be part of it. It could be the 32 years I have been driving and everything has always had a shifter on the column or in the middle. Given the option I would rather have a column shifter.

I'm still getting used to it. I traded in my 2015 Charger on a 2016 Big Horn with the shifter knob. I was prepared for it a little bit as my wife's 2015 Chrysler 200 has the same electronic shifter knob for her 9-Speed but it's still taking a little getting used to. A lot of people complain about these shift knobs but I like them, I think they de-clutter the interior a little bit, and they seem to function very smoothly from my experience so far.

My biggest issue right now is remembering to use my key fob to unlock my doors, and to take it out of my pocket to start my truck. My past two vehicles (both Chargers) had push button start, and vicinity sensors so you could leave your fob in your pocket, walk up and put your hand under the door and unlock the car. Kind of wish the Rams had it too, but it's not a big deal.

Maybe with the future shift knob it could be resessed into the panel. I think bmw and jaguar do this. Basically you push in the shift knob to make it pop up to then turn it. Once you have it in the gear you want ,you push it in again to make it flush with the dashboard panel.

That would be nice. I do find myself almost grabbing the shifter knob sometimes instead of the volume knob, which is shame on me anyways because I have steering wheel audio controls... But your idea would fix that problem.

I don't think I would want to be plowing snow with anything other than a column shifter. I wonder if those shifter knobs are a delete item when you add the SNOW CHIEF PKG...

I've grown too accustomed to it... :) No matter what other car I may find myself driving, I'm always reaching for the shift knob at first! LOL

Got use to it pretty fast, I have turned the truck off instead of putting in park a few times, the truck doesn't like you when you do that. Its just the same reflex to turn the key as the knob. I do wish it was a fast as the Fords that now have a rotary that put it in park immediately instead of hollering at you for a minute.

I felt stupid the 2x ive done it, ya know because it was stupid.

Didnt take me long to get the hang of it. I would rather have console shifter but not a big deal. I do however find myself reaching for the rear slider switch under the radio, since thats where it was on my 08. I do it constantly lol.

Snow plow prep package is only available on the 2500 and 3500 which don't have the 8 speed
