Well I ran a couple of errands today and my last stop was the home improvement store. Run in, grab my stuff and back out to my truck in less then 20 minutes. Unlock the truck, and go to start it..... turns over, runs rough for about 30 seconds then dies. I try it again and cranks but no start, so had to get it towed to the dealership. I tried it one last time before the flatbed showed up and it would run really rough for a minute or so then die. To me it reminded me of the old car I had that the fuel pump went out on.... only 12K miles on the truck. Will see what the dealership says Monday.

Had you recently gotten gas? Sounds like possible bad fuel. Happened to me once.

If a hammer doesn't fix it, it's an electrical issue.

Here's hoping it's something simple, man.....

I did get gas about maybe a half hour before this happened..... so I did let my dealership know about it.

Stopped up fuel filter? Happened the same way with a Ford F-150. It was running fine on the highway. Stopped at McDonalds for a 15 minute break. Went back out and it would start briefly, run rough, and quit. Then finally it would not start at all. Had it towed about 100 miles.

Sounds like diesel in a gas truck, hard to do with the difference in nozzle size but I've seen it happen.

Not diesel, they only have one pump for that at the place I filled up and I always do a double take to make sure I'm getting the right octane gas.

Well that sucks but at least it should be simple to fix.

Did you get a decent grade/brand of gas? I noticed a huge change in mine in the way it seemed to mis with quick trip gas vs the Exxon I have been putting in it for 2 months now. My work truck is a 02 Silverado. It's pretty much maintance free and we got some bad gas at quick trip and it was surging in the idle and it died several times. I had to end up putting chevron gas in it and after a few miles straightened up. I worked at a full service chevron gas station as a pre teen pumping gas and I heard horror stories about lesser companies watering down the gas. I don't know how it works now, because of all of the ethanol crap they add it to our gas. I hope it's just gas for you.
