Add me to the list....

Passenger rear manifold bolt gone. Started sounding like hell when I would cold start it but would sound normal once it warmed up.

so whats happening with these manifold bolts? Breaking or rattling loose and falling out?

Did you notice any sound or noise when it happened? reason I ask, I was backing last night at my shop and heard a loud "pop" as I was backing up ( and had the wheel turned). I thought i hit something, but then realized that there is nothing in my driveway to hit. I had no idea what it was, thought it sounded like a somebody shot a BB or somthing at my window. Almost reminded me of catching a rock while on the highway too.....

I looked all over ( inside and out ) and see nothing on the body of the truck, nothing broken inside, outside or under my truck, that I can find anyway.

I did think the manifold bolts ( since this seems like an ongoing issue with these trucks ), but I heard no noise like you said. The engine was warm though.......

No, no noise when it happened. Just started developing a loud tick/exhaust leak coming from passenger side during warm up.

Mine just broke off from the head of the bolt randomly. 51k miles.

It was super easy to diagnose. I did it in a polo and dress pants in under 20 minutes... Remove the wheel well enough to access the manifold. Undo the 4 nuts holding the heat shield on. Then inspect the bolts.

Depending on where you are, maybe what you heard was an acorn falling on your truck lol I swear squirrels throw them at my truck like they are pitching in the MLB

Now I have to check mine. I have been noticing how loud my truck has been since its getting colder again. I hope my 2010 isn't a nightmare getting busted, rusting bolts out of it.

How well did the busted bolts come out?

You'd have to ask the dealership that... I couldn't get them out with vice grips and didn't have a replacement bolt so I didn't even attempt any further. I'm going to let them deal with it since it's under warranty

Those are usually so rusty and stress from heat. I hate doing manifold bolts when they've been on that long. Even worse if there's no longer a head to attach to.

Rear diff oil change, engine oil change, "recharged" Vararam intake, removed lower "air dam" on front bumper (=more ground clearance), bought new tools and installed Bilstein 5100s (set at 2.8) on my 14 Express 1500 4x4.

I have a 14 Sport with 46k. I sure hope my manifold bolts don't decide to vanish. Is this very common?

Got any pics of it without the air dam?

I had a local body shop install a color matched bumper valance on my Tradesman as well. It was one thing that I simply had to have on my truck. It ran me $422 for the part the paint and the install. Makes the truck look like an SLT for a fraction of the upgraded trim price.

MOD came yesterday, glad I didn't have to wait the weekend. Cracked a beer and went straight to work... after work.. pictures don't do it justice but it was a super easy install! I love the look of the truck SXT upper bumper sucked!

The urge to to colour match the grill and bumpers now is very high lol!

I paid $250 CDN for the new part to be colour matched and shipped.

Tonight after work we do my 3" PA Body lift and rear coil spacers!
