Nice work.

Adam
Thanks. That means a lot. Great thing is, in this whole transformation, the most expensive thing was the color matched paint for the grille at about $45 bucks. Other than that, a lot of learning as a result of trial and error.

Hey Adam. How are you liking the Toyo Open Country R/T's and are they the Extreme versions? My dad is looking at getting either them or the AT 2's in regular or Extreme. For his 2500 Cummins. But he's wondering how they will hold up. And how much road noise they produce. And how they ride.

So far, I've got almost 2k miles on them and am still in love with them. They seem to be wearing nicely and have absolutely ZERO road noise from stock. I don't think the R/T's come in an "extreme" version unless it's something new. If that's the case, then my R/T's are not the "Extreme". So far so good on them and I'd recommend them to anyone.

That's for the update man. He's looking at the regular R/T like yours. And the Extreme version of the A/T 2. I got a quote at our local tire guy yesterday. For $1400 out the door for 34.5x11.50R18s. I'm going to head back up and haggle them alittle more. To see if I can get the price down some more.

I wanted to update everyone on what's going on with the truck. I haven't had the chance to take it to any car shows this year yet as every time we plan to go, it rains or something comes up. I'm hoping to get some trophies sometime this year but we will see.

All future modifications are currently on hold as my wife and I are now saving for our dream log cabin home. We are currently in the process of looking for land to build on which is a task in its own. So, unless we strike it rich, I won't be doing anything else to the truck as of right now. I'll still be around on here as there are some really great members who I enjoying talking with. I'm also still wanting to put together a Southwest PA/North Central WV/Eastern OH meet sometime soon. Thanks all and enjoy what's left of your weekend!

Before we decided to start truely saving for our cabin, my wife bought these PIAA LED lights for her Jeep. So I put them on yesterday. :) I'm such a good husband. Lol!

Adam

P.S. If you look closely, you'll notice that I finally gave in and put my tow mirrors down. :p

Here's a comparison of the lighting I now have:

1st Pic - Low Beams with Fogs
2nd Pic - High Beams
3rd Pic - 36" LED lightbar

My lights are on with the light bar but honestly, it doesn't matter if they are on or not. The lightbar just takes control of the lighting. :favorites13:

Have your LEDs been a big improvement over the stock headlights?

I like the LED look that the lights give me but the more that I drive at night, the more that I'm really not as impressed with them. I believe I could actually see better with regular halogens. Now my wife has a set of aftermarket LED headlights that come as a whole assembly and they are really bright at night. So to answer your question: Did my Opt7's improve my vision at night? I'd have to answer "no", they did not.

It was the same way when I installed them also in my Ram. The factory headlights at night even though they stink, output was a little brighter. Now in my Legacy headlights, I could land a plane in a murky swamp with those puppies...

Well, I haven't been online for quite some time but I'm still here. :) I've got to tell you, the banks sure do make it difficult to build a new home. But, that's a whole nother rant.... Here's some recent pics I took by a large American Flag we have locally. Enjoy!

Adam,

I must say, I just re-read your whole build thread, and the way you answer questions, and have helped everyone out, who wants to either copy you or pick your brain on a subject is absolutely awesome. You and a few other members have made this forum one of the best I have ever been a part of. Thanks for all the detail and informaiton you put into your build thread. You have been a huge motivator on things I want/have done to my truck.

Jeff

EDIT: OH yeah I still love your truck, and think it's kick-ass

Wow, Jeff, thanks!! I'm glad that there are people out there who really appreciate these build threads and the time that some members really put in to them. I'm sorry I haven't been on here to respond to your gracious comment, but thank you very much! You are welcome for the information provided and thanks again for your kind words. :) :waytogo:

Very nice truck! Nice build!

Thanks!!

Adam,
Truck looks freakin awesome man! I'm curious how those Toyo R/T's are treating you. Trying to decide myself whether to go with an M/T or R/T. My truck is going to look fairly similar to yours after it's lifted, I might just start my own build thread as well. Thanks man!

Hey, thanks for the compliments! I've got about 3k miles on them so far and they are treating me very well. I'm looking forward to some snow this year to try them out in the winter weather. But so far, they are wearing evenly and handle very well.

Truck's still lookin' good. I think I'm going the RT route next time around. I have the AT's, while okay, they kind of float over the snow. They have been wearing great, but don't quite have the bite I'd like to get out of them. MT's are a little much as I hardly go mudding. I probably have 1 - 1.5 years maybe....

That's exactly my thinking on why I went with the R/T's in the first place. I figured the M/T's would be overkill as I new I wasn't going to go off-roading a whole lot, but I wanted an aggressive tire for snow and for hunting trips. Plus, the 45k mile warranty on them is tough to beat. :)

Adam

BTW, when are you bringing back TOTM?? Lol!

I'm debating what to do with it. I can't guarantee I'll be on here the beginning of every month to keep it up. Thought about maybe just a couple classes of truck, twice a year maybe. Work, family, and house have kept me pretty busy. The only thing my truck got this year were LED headlights and brakes and rotors, lol.
