So learning continues. Received my new clear stock style headlights. Pop them in the oven as i've done more than a dozen times to bake the headlights apart. The main portion of the headlight comes apart as normal but the outer reflector has started to melt. Wonderful. Also, the outer portion is epoxy glued on rather than a removable sealant. So i ordered ANOTHER set. No painting i guess since i can't get the turn signal portion apart.

Also upgraded the Hella's to 100w bulbs

Outer reflector? You talking about the corner bucket? I broke 2 of those trying to do em, turns out they're permasealed. I actually just ordered a couple tools to make that a lot easier. I'll post the link in a few

Edit: here's the link

I don't think it's permasealed, i've gotten ford lights apart that were permaseled. These just shatter. I went ahead and just ordered a set of smoked lights so they'll match the Hella 500 blackmagic's without having to paint inside the headlights.

Happy New Year.

Installed my B&M deep transmission pan last night.

FYI the "adapter" to make filter sit lower does not fit.

Does anyone know where to get an OEM paper gasket for a a518 trans (46re)

which adapter did you try using? the kit usually comes with 2. 1 for a a518(the thinner one) and 1 for a 727(the thicker one). as you probably noticed the B&M pan is really not that much deeper than the stock one.

should be able to get a gasket at any parts store but you may end up having to buy a filter to get it

Need to use the small adapter, not the large (i run the same pan).

Also, here's good part numbers for pan gaskets. Rubber or cork, not paper.

Well fixed my leak from the new exhaust system. Folded up tin foil 4 layers thick, wrapped it around the pipe and then used a nice band clamp. Works perfect.

Made a couple orders as well. Seeing as the new exhaust is currently annoyingly dumped (so much vibration and resonance at certain speeds and rpms, i can't take it) I'm going to be doing a thing. I'm sure yall can guess.

Also yesterday i went in and used some flat black VHT FlameProof on the headers yesterday. In the truck, over the rust lol. Probably won't last and might just make em fail sooner. Oops. Looks better didn't now though

I used the thinner adapter and it did not fit, maybe it was just my pan, who knows.

Added more trans fluid today, and put in some gas from a can low on $$ til payday.

Tonight I removed the top end of my lt250r, and replaced the top end gaskets as well as the power valve gasket, changed oil, and coolant as well. Also found out how to wire headlight, as mine is street legal in TX.

Also with the B&M pan and the adapter, I suppose it wouldve worked with the supplied trans filter, however it didn't seem up to par and I had a new one from the parts store, so I installed the oem copy one.

It seems the paper gaskets are impossible to find for our transmissions.

Installed and wired up the Hella 500 Black Magic lights on the bumper
BzebqZX.jpg

I modded them to accept HID bulbs (melted the back of the housing out to clear the bulbs) however upon installing them, the melted backside hits the grill when opening the hood, so had to remelt them back down to flush and just keep halogen bulbs

Well that's just depressing. I was looking forward to that mod.

Oh, forgot, went out to a friends house saturday night and took the Dodge into the woods. Did well. She has quite a few scratches now I imagine but even still.

It would work for you since you've got the brush guard, but having them mounted on the bumper just doesn't leave room.

I did make progress on my rear LED's.
Flush mounted some 3x2 led pods and tapped into the reverse wiring.

HUGE improvement!! Not sure if running a relay and their own wire from a fuse will make them brighter as I didn't check voltage from the reverse lights themselves, but they work

Smoked headlights came in yesterday and turns out the main lens on these is permasealed. So fun time ahead. may just return these for 1 pcs lights and just do the washers to aim them

They're awesome aren't they? Got them on mine too. I love them. Mine are wired directly to the reverse lights too
