What's the exact size for the Oem fender flares. I picked up a set of used flares so I will need to replace them.
I did some research and I found to get the 1/4 but what about the other measurements? Will any 1/4 inch wide work? What about the overall width needed from flare mounting to fender?

Let me know if you have any info

1/4 is what you need. Get the THIN stuff too.

A few tips as I've gone through this a few times.

If you can, get yourself an eraser wheel and it will save you hours. You'll want to remove ALL of the old stuff. If you don't, the flare will not sit flush along the body.

Here is what mine looked like when I was done. But then again, it wasn't 100% new..

Once all removed, use some grease and wax remover and wipe down the area the tape will go. Make it clean!

When you put the tape on the flare, push it down and make sure it's seated well.

Take both ends and pull the red tape off about an each from each side, fold it so it's sticking up so you can grab it when the flare is on the body.

Then hang the flare by the christmas tree fittings - start the bolts and make sure it's all ready to go. Tighten them evenly and once done, pull the red tape that is sticking up and slowly go all the way around the flare pressing it good along the body. (TIP TOO: make sure the body is clean too, use wax and grease remover too.)

Easy peasy !

This is the 3M tape I had laying around. it's the exact tape you want.

However, that is not enough. You'll want 3 feet per flare.

I ended up getting 3 rolls of 3M part number 38583.
1/4 in x5 yard

Good luck!

Thank you just what I needed. Really Good info
I actually bought the same 3m tape you show just wasn't sure if it was the right one I found it at autozone now I will have to go buy more lol
The old tape is what had me worried too but since I'm getting them painted I will ask the shop and see if they can remove the old stuff for me
Hopefully it all works out well

Thank you again

i bought (2) 15 foot roles that way i had no seams in the flares. and it took me quite a bit more than 3 foot per flare. I was more in the range of 5 foot per flare.

edit: I think the rears took more than 5 foot. Was looking at old posts from the first time I put the flares on and I posted that 25' of tape was not enough.

I would like to do the same to have no gaps
So how many total did you end up using if you remember?
So far I bought 3 packages of the ones listed above will I need more?lol
They are kind of pricey too about $11 dollars at autozone

I bought (2) 15 foot rolls. I don't know exactly how much was used per flare or how much was left over, but i liked having no seams and it never hurts to have 2 sided tape so i was fine with having leftover.

I bet (5) five foot rolls would be enough, but you would have some seems.
