i am going to try a pvc pressurized canister with the sensors thrown inside.

i will try to do this when i mount my toyos on the truck shortly...

will report back soon

this could be a really cheap fix

there is plenty of this " stuff " on google university

cheers!

Let us know. If you're going to use OEM sensors, the consensus is that they have to be spinning to function.

It still requires a trip to the dealer for the TPMS thresholds adjustment.

Yeah, but at least this makes it obtainable. Easier than tracking down an Autel device with the correct software on it. But it costs $170 [emoji20]

I can almost guarantee the time and money replacing that steering wheel button is more than renting an Autel and getting rid of the warnings forever. Let me know if you change your mind.

Autel devices with the correct software are easily found [emoji6]. Don't forget the dealer fees on top of the $170 device cost. My local dealer won't do anything computer related for less than $125.

I am confused....

I finally got around to calling and finding a shop with an Autel scanner that would be make these changes. I got my PIN number from the dealer a couple months ago.

So today I went to the shop I spoke with earlier in the week and worked with a tech to make these changes. The first step worked fine. The 2nd step we couldn't perform. It didn't like the PIN number we entered. Tried a 2nd time and same result. So I thanked them for their time and went on my way. I figure the parts guy at my dealer mistyped my VIN when looking up the PIN and would talk with them again next time I was by there. My tires pressures were 50 psi in all 4 tires and the low pressure light was on, as it had been.

This afternoon I got in the truck and the low tire pressure light didn't display, nor did it go to the tire pressure display. I changed to that screen and it didn't highlight any low tires. My tires pressures were 50 psi in all 4 tires.

From what I've read, both of these steps need to be performed. Any ideas why mine would work without the 2nd step? We'll wait and see if the light comes back on or not.

Define "not work". The 2nd step is actually the same process for programming a new key so it's going to 'fail' but what needs to happen happens. The 'error' that's displayed will vary depending the type of key.

It rejected my PIN, so there were no prompts to follow.

I can't recall exactly what the error language was, but it was along the line of "Invalid PIN", or "PIN not valid for this vehicle".

Hey guys, new to the forum, but found it while searching for a resolution to the TPMS issue. I just traded my '15 1500 for a '16 2500. I was able to swap the Speedo Calibrator to adjust for the 37s, but that's what prompts my question.

Will there be a conflict since I've already gone and modified things for the tire size? Would I need to replace the stock settings before doing the TPMS/RFHub updates? Or am I just being paranoid and they'll work happily together?

They should work together, no problem. I've helped several guys adjust the TPMS and the tire size calibration with different devices without issue. The settings are separate and don't affect each other. Same goes enabling the fog lights with high beams. Let me know if I can help you make the TPMS adjustment.
