Who here is in the PNW and has the Autel tool? I'll travel and pay a reasonable fee to get mine done.

If anyone has a lead on a shop in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area I'd love to give them some of my wife's money. I'd also settle for one in Oklahoma City or Wichita, KS as I make that trip a few times a month.

I ship my Autel through the mail with instructions. Anyone interested can shoot me a PM and I'll give you the details.

Sorry, there's no one known within a few hours of any of those locations. I'll ship one of my Autels with complete instructions as well. I also have a notebook with AutoEnginuity software that'll adjust the speedo for large tires, enable fogs with high beams and other options. Send me a PM for details and availability.

Another area on the Autel for setting tire pressure thresholds?

I have an Autel MS906TS that has the Dodge version 7.54. Apparently on this update they lost the function of the pressure changing. When you select the tire pressure change from the BCM menu, it just shows a bunch of part numbers. In looking around the different menus, I found under the BCM, ECU Control Reset "Max load inflation pressure rear tire" There is another one for front tire. Also there is a "Light load inflation pressure rear tire" and a front tire for that as well. If I check the box, show that selection then go to the settings, a list shows up on the left side of the screen. In that list, it shows the same subjects, max load front and rear, and light load front and rear. If you select those, you can enter new values.

I am not sure if this is the same result only through another direction. I have not entered anything yet. Hoping for someone who experienced with this thing to add some insight...

7.54 is a known 'bad' version and what you experienced is normal. Finding those settings thru another method is certainly interesting and worth a try. What values did you see for the front and rear settings that you found?

Under the MAX TIRE PRESSURE SETTING FRONT it currently shows 60psi. Under the rear it shows 80psi. When you click show, then settings in the second list I mentioned was on the left side screen, it gives you two lines to put in values. The min shows 0 and the max shows 126 psi. You can input different values on those two lines.

This is where I got scared....not knowing exactly what I am doing. I was hoping someone who knows their way around this thing could look at it and see if it is just a different way I have found perhaps....

Default settings for HD TPMS systems are quite high. Some owners report they cannot find a desired tire size that will accommodate the higher pressures so they must make a choice between wearing out their new tires prematurely or dealing with constant EVIC warnings, a Low Tire Pressure warning light and a rough riding truck.

There is a fix.

This has been confirmed to work on any 2014+ HD truck and on any model. You will have this done at a dealer per the instructions below. It is recommended you print them and take them with you. The technician should be able to change your settings and turn off the light.

Step 1: Go into the BCM (body control module). Go to "miscellaneous functions". Go to "update pressure thresholds". Set pressure to desired settings. Do not try to do different pressures front and back! Even if you run 10 psi difference front to back you won't get a light. If you plan to run 10 psi difference I suggest your "setting" be in the middle of the high and low just to give you a little cushion.

Step 2: Go into the RFH (radio frequency hub). Go to "miscellaneous functions". Perform "RFH replace" and follow prompts. You will need the PIN number for the truck. That can be obtained through Dealer Connect with the vin number to the truck. When following the prompts - when asked for desired pressure setting - set new pressure levels. You do not need to replace anything - just perform the function to set new levels.

Once the RFH replace function is done the light goes out and the truck will read new pressures after driving a short distance.

More Information on HD TPMS Reset Options

This information was originally started & gathered in the CumminsForum.com thread How to set TPMS to ANY pressure which is similar to this thread. It has 1700+ posts with info changing half way thru and much confusion. 4x4x4door created that thread to help clear up confusion and help as many as possible. Special thanks goes to Indytruckchampion(CF member) for creating that thread with the process and to articsilber323 for figuring out that the Autel Maxisys can do this since FCA removed the ability from the dealers. PLEASE read the common questions below before asking questions.

General info:
To fully adjust the TPMS you need the change the psi thresholds and update the RFH (Radio frequency hub).

Factory pressure settings are 60(Hemi) or 65(Cummins) front & 80 rear with a 20% threshold which means that the warnings (light, sounds & nag screen) will come on at 48(H) or 52(C) front & 64 rear. If that happens then you will have to air the tires to 60(H) or 65(C) front and/or 80 rear to make the warnings go away.

The PIN – You must have your PIN to fully adjust the TPMS system. There are 2 PIN numbers associated with your key and truck. Technically, there's a 3rd one too that's a rolling code (unknown digits) that expires. It is only used if you lose all your keys and it requires a call to Lord FCA to get. I believe this is where some dealers get confused and try to tell you that the 4-digit PIN will expire. I've not heard of anyone saying that theirs expired when they tried to use it. A few members have been charged a fee to get the code. This ridiculous and I’d find another dealer, but I realize some don't have that choice.
PIN #1: 4-digit code (all numbers) that is used to program the key (fobik) to the truck. This is the one you need for this process.
PIN #2: 5-digit code with a letter in front (ex. M0000) that is used to cut a new metal key.

It’s a good idea to get both codes as soon as you possibly can. Recently, some dealers have refused to give them out.

Devices:
Autel MaxiSys -- will adjust the psi settings and update the RFH (Radio frequency hub)
Launch X431 -- very similar to the Autel MaxiSys with possible same functionality
Matco Maxgo & Maxme -- supposed to be able to adjust the psi settings & update the RFH (Maximus should also)
AutoEnginuity software -- will only adjust the threshold psi settings (also custom tire sizes & enable fogs w/highs)
Witech (dealer) -- will only update the RFH, IF you can find a dealer that's willing do it
AEV ProCal -- only sold with their lift kits; will only adjust the psi settings (tire sizes & other settings)
Snap-on – no one has found that any of their devices can do this

Common questions:
Q: Can the dealer do this?
A: They cannot change the psi thresholds but they have the ability to update the RFH. Whether they or not is questionable.

Q: Is there someone near me that can do this?
A: ***HERE*** is a map that 4x4x4door created showing all known members that have a device. If there'e no one close enough to you, try contacting 4x4x4door or BPMPVET.

Q: Will this ‘change’ get removed if I get a flash update from the dealer or if I install a tune.
A: No

Q: Will this ‘change’ void my warranty.
A: First they have to prove that it caused a problem and how they gonna 'see' it? The Witech can't get to the settings but anything's possible.

Q: What model of Autel MaxiSys can do this?
A: The common model is MS906 but any MaxiSys model should have this ability excluding Dodge software version 7.5.1. The MaxiDAS cannot do this process and I doubt any MaxiTPMS will either.

Q: Can the Autel MaxiSys make other adjustments like larger tires or enable fogs w/highs?
A: It’s a very powerful diagnostic device but it can only adjustment to other factory tire sizes and cannot enable fogs w/highs.

Q: Where can I find the instructions do make the adjustments?
A: articsilber323 provided these in post #912 in the original thread. Some of the screens have changed slightly with the newer software versions but the process is generally the same.

The Dodge dealer in Pueblo, Co. refused to do this. Not the best place to deal with and I take my new truck business elsewhere.

I did the same as you and I see those settings but I don't think you can actually change the value there. There's no enter or Ok button, only the record button on top which takes you to another screen. These seems to be different. The max and min when setting via the update pressure threshold function are 80 and 28.

They refused because they can't. Their Witech doesn't have the ability for more than a year now. Check out the 2nd half of that original post for updated info that I had MADDOG include. Let me if I can help you out. I'll mail an Autel right to your house.

Ok, I guess what I saw was the place to enter the new values, but I guess there is no way to actually write those values to the BCMECU. Well, I guess I will just have to wait until version 7.55 comes out with a possible fix or try to locate a 7.52 file somewhere. I feel bad....I have a PIN number with no place to go:roflsquared:

If you want to help make sure that version 7.55 fixes this issue, call Autel support and talk to the engineering team. It's been done for other versions when they screwed something up. Many times they'll send you a beta file that fixes the issue before they issue version 7.55

Ok, thanks 4x4x4. I sent the email. I will also call them.

Do you know if they have a file archive somewhere I could download a previous version such as 7.52 for Dodge? That would make things easier. I looked around but didn't come across anything.

I got this thing with this in mind, as well as other things.....and of course their most recent update messed up that function.

Thanks guys

The files are serial number locked. When you get a version that works, pull it off the Autel and save it somewhere. That's what the rest of us have done. There's nowhere to pull an archive...

Exactly what BPMPVET said. Unfortunately your email is likely a waste of time because no one has ever response that I know of. Filing a support request, chatting online or posting on their forum is just as useless. Calling and talking with their engineers is the only way. There's no restore or backup in the Autel software. We tried like heck to resolve a similar issue when version 7.51 came out. Almost all of us got screwed because we updated and couldn't use our Autels for the TPMS adjustment for nearly 2 months while we waited for an update. What we learned is the only way to protect yourself is to create your own backup of the Dodge & Chrysler folders in Scan/Vehicle/USA folder. Of course, you can backup the whole USA, Vehicle or Scan folders if you want. The Scan folder is about 2.5GB in size. You can copy the folders and files to a micro SD card or connect the Autel to a computer with the included USB cable. Windows 10 sees it as a device in the 'This PC' directory.

Thanks for the root directory of where the necessary files are. WHEN they come out with a new version for Dodge with the tire threshold function working, I will save the appropriate folder.

I will also call the number and see if I can get any success that way.

Thanks so much for the info.

4X4X4 I hopped on here after I read you signature. How much are you all charging to rent your Autel's?

Autel update on the way, maybe.....

Well, Autel Support told me to expect a beta version on Thursday to address the Tire Pressure Threshold function for the Ram trucks. This came as a result of the email I sent. I got that before I called this morning. I also inquired about the ability to activate/deactivate the DRL's after the dealer does the initial activation with the adding of the proper sales code. We shall see what happens.
