I like wix xp, but i may go with fram ultra based on this info. How much is the royal purple compared to the others? I wonder if significantly more if it's worth the price of admission since i do PMs every 5k?

Wix XP is a little cheaper. I've run both Wix XP and RP filters and cut both open. Both have very similar media and ADBVs, the Wix has a coil spring at the bottom as opposed to a leaf spring fwiw. Both are great filters, I'd run whichever one you could get cheaper.

Just changed the oil this past weekend. Went with Pennzoil Platinum 5w-20 and the Bosch Distance Plus D3334. I can get that filter on Amazon for just over $9, which I don't think is too bad.

I really like the construction of this filter. I've cut into a few I had on my Jeep XJ and they're built very well, with a thicker case and base plate than I've observed over other filters. Also, the media is synthetic rather than cellulose.

I rather enjoy geeking out about oil and filters lol.

I was shopping this weekend and could not find an Ultra at 3 different Wal-Mart stores. I did find one but it had a massive dent. Not sure what the scarcity is about

I think they are 10-48 and the last ones I bought were through Amazon. I think there is also another RP filter that will fit but I'm not sure of the part number.

10-48, or the larger 20-820 either will fit, only one left if you want the case HERE, the CS on the end just indicates case. Case 10-48 as well.

LOL...Noooooooooo....
I just thought it interesting, I was at Walmart probably 6 months ago or so looking at filters and opened a k&n box and it had an AC/DELCO filter in it. [emoji848] Thought I see what happened here.

Not that it makes a huge difference but the Amsoil EA and RP filters are virtually identical except for the inlet hole count6fface8578f7d8aef3d6711c6f9faca5.jpg
Has anyone ever compared the two as far as flow rate? Just looking at it it would appear that the RP would have a better flow rate. ( more inlet holes)

I wasn't even considering the AC/delco. I was talking about the Amsoil and RP filters. The RP has 8 inlet holes and Amsoil has 6.

Are you saying the RP uses a leaf spring in the 10-48? The EA15K50 uses a coil spring. I'm looking at one of mine right now. That's different than the video comparison showed, but those filters weren't for the Hemi. Interesting... same media (I asume), different relief spring type for this application. Actually, I think this has been brought up before.

No I am currently running my second larger 20-820 filter

Ok: Reason I ask is I have 3 of the RP 10-48 that I would send you. (Ones that I purchased for my 2014 5.7L that I never used).

I've got 10 wix XP filters sitting in my garage right now so I guess that's what I'll be using for a while. Good to know it's a quality filter.
