IMG_20171230_080853.jpg Right now it's cold outside. I'm using the oe block heater. Mopar battery warmer. 5W20 mobil1 synthetic. I used wire terminal cleaner on all my latches to get out moisture prior to loading them up with white lithium grease. Tailgate is frozen shut because I forgot to do it, but the tonneau still works fine.also made sure my antifreeze was up to the task good to -45 at the moment.

Yup. Worst winter we’ve had here in southern Ontario in a while. Actually had a white Christmas this year ha ha ha. Super cold and windy. I just plug in my truck and haven’t had a hard time starting it. I also grease everything up and use -45 Costco washer fluid. It’s great stuff !

I used bearing grease on my tailgate. I figure if it’s good enough for axles and bearings on a boat trailer it’s gotta be good on a tailgate [emoji106]

I didn’t even think of a battery warmer, however, it’s not usually that cold here. Some cold spells but we usually start around -1 ish

I start adding the winter windshield fluid in early fall. That's about it.

Is the block heater standard on Canadian models? Where do I look for the cord?

It's usually tucked under the passenger I want to call it a shrowd cover. It's the first piece you take off if you're taking out the grill to get at the top. Will be tucked under there next to the rad cap if you have it. IMG_20171230_160116.jpg sorry the pictures not the best, but you can kind of make out the plug end next to the yellow cap.

Lets see, I think the coldest day of the year so far was an overnight low of 41 F. I combat this intimidating situation by keeping the truck (and cars) in the garage overnight. I think that the overnight lows in the garage run around 60 F at worst. its a struggle, but I manage to get whatever vehicle I want to use started.

If it gets below 0* here I start thinking about moving farther south, not a winter person anymore I guess 30 yrs of working outside caused that.. :)

^^^^ I agree 100%!

I am thankful I’m in Oklahoma!
-0 to -15 is stupid cold to me.
I am so looking forward to retiring and being able to move further south during the winter months.
I’m hoping when the kids graduate they can seek employment much further south so we can visit during the winter months they will totally love that.

You think you're better than me with your fancy warm temperatures and "garage" parking?

It has been in the low 20s and high teens here in the daytime here in PA. I Just plug in the block heater either overnight or an hour before I need to start it.

I have a brass monkey in my truck and when his balls start to freeze off I put the truck in the warm.

Bitter cold last night; +64 degrees F... Started right up though....

When I move back to MI I'll get a block heater: -10 there a couple days ago. Until then, I'm doing everything in my power to keep temps down.
