When I installed my Mufflex 18 it seemed to be a bit longer and the factory tips stuck out another 1/4 inch. I spoke to Matt at Moe's and the Moe's 5" tips are about a 1/4 inch longer than the stock ones, so I wanted a flush look.

I actually wish I would've done this with mine and may still run to see my exhaust guy. The 5" tips stick out a little more than I'd like so it's not a bad idea at all. Not complaining about the current look, being picky. lol

After cutting my 2 pipes coming out of the muffler back, it looks much better being a flush look almost right below the crescent bumper cutouts. My Moe's tips FedEx ship date got moved to tomorrow now. It was listed as arriving today!!!! I was so psyched to get home and put them on and see how they fit with my cuts I made yesterday. Should sit perfect below the bumper now. Dang!!!

I did have exhaust guy cut the pipes back a bit, as they stuck out too far with the Moes tips for my liking, and they agreed as well. Been pretty busy with work, haven't had a chance to snap some pics but will try and get some today for sure, I've had compliments on them from friends saying they look awesome blending in with the black sport bumpers!

I stuck with the Moe's chrome version. I have to admit, I originally thought "How much difference can 1" in diameter make on the exhaust tips?" I was originally gonna stick with the factory size, but wow! I am glad I decided to go bigger. And it does give a deeper tone like others stated. I am so glad I cut back the pipes by 3/4" with my Mufflex. I dig the flush look.
