Just drove 1380 miles to cabin in upper Mn, both interstate and country roads. Cruise on 73 on interstate. Truck said 20.8 mpg. Hemi with 3.32 gears.

I had a 2014 bighorn quadcab 6.4’ bed 3.6L V6 8 speed trans, I would average about 23 mpg driving from Cocoa, Florida to Madison, Wisconsin both ways.

Now I have a 2016 bighorn quadcab 6.4’ bed 3.6L V6 8 speed trans, I now average about 18 & 19mpg driving from Cocoa, Florida to Madison, Wisconsin both ways. The gears are different from the 2014 I had.

I had to rent a motorcycle trailer in Atlanta, loaded my Harley trike on it to tow home... I got 10 mpg hauling that home behind my 2014. It was geared for better gas mileage but sucked at towing anything.

My brother and I both have 2014's, friend recently bought a 2017/18 not 100% sure on the year.
We all are around 15MPG give or take.
I only drive short distances in the city myself.

Just because some people seem to think it’s impossible and no that’s not all I went by, I hand jammed it to.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the hemi actually got better mileage than the 6 cylinder. I had a 4.8 Silverado that got worse mileage than the 5.3. This new technology really helps these engines with fuel economy. The 8 speed transmission is awesome and does its job well. One of you guys are really funny saying check to make sure it’s a hemi.

lol im not joking!

I get 20+ on the highway, cruise control set to 65. With the around town driving thrown in, I average 17-18. I just recently went on a long 1000+ mi trip and averaged 22+.

Its certainly possible to get decent mileage with the Hemi if you're willing to drive 65-70 MPH. When I get on the freeway my mileage usually goes down, not up. I do 9 over no matter what so 79 on the interstate is safe speeding ticket wise and you don't have to worry about the aggravation of slower traffic as much. I may ***** about the price of gas and the cost of 87 vs. 89 but there's no way in hell I'm driving the speed limit or below it. That being said if you have the patience and self restraint to drive 55 more power to you. I ***** at people all the time for not maintaining a reasonable speed and slowing down for almost nonexistent curves that even a blind man could safely navigate through.

On a recent trip to FL, I managed peak of 21.1 running 70 with MDS off. This was also with the windows up and AC off. As soon as I bumped it up to 75, it dropped by about 1mpg.

On the way back, I showed 21.4 peak (held that for a good half hour or so) with both MDS and AC on.

All of this was going by the EVIC, I've been too lazy to hand calculate. But I figure if the EVIC is off, it's consistently off, so its an indication that MDS seems to save a little at least, and that there's a decent difference between running 70 vs 75. If I'd had time, I'd have tried some time at 65 to see what happened.

Anyone with some ridiculously high MPG reading should just take a picture of their instrument cluster and post it here OVER A PERIOD OF TIME (not just 10 miles to work going down a hill the whole time). I flat out don't believe these claims.
18-20 in these trucks is about average (probably even lower is the norm).
Hemi V8.

My numbers were over a 560 mile trip

I see that a lot of people don’t believe me but a lot of people are getting close to the same mileage as me.

Again my truck is a 2018 quad cab with 6.6 bed and 3.21 gears. I guess no one read that when I posted it earlier.

I mostly drove the speed limit or slowed down a bit and didn’t hit any major towns or traffic, that’s a huge benefit to being a truck driver and knowing what routes to take and what times to take them.

Yes the speed limit is 70 on a lot of them roads and I went between 65 and 70. I always set cruise on the flat straight aways at the speed limit but coming down fancy gap I slowed down a bit...force of habit from driving an 80,000 pound rig full of liquid.

Frankly I don’t care if people don’t believe me, I just thought I’d post about our trucks and let people know just how awesome they are.

FWIW, I don't think I can catch you as I have the 3.92 rear end, however now that I am paying attention I found I can drive it up a bit, I got up to 16.3 around town the other day. Now I just need a road trip for a few hundred miles to see if I can get 19-20 ish.

Most of my driving is highway, I live in the country but the major highways are minutes from my house. My average mpg on a day to day basis is around 20-21. Speed limits are 55-65 almost everywhere I go.

I almost got the 3.92 rear but figured 8200 lb towing capacity was enough for me and I haul more than I tow anyway.
