I made the box myself with 1 1/8” MDF, and had it custom wrapped. Will be selling it soon if you’re interested. It’s loaded with a JL Audio 12” W7 AE sub.

I would sell it as a package deal, the sub, box and the JL HD 750/1 amp. $1300 shipped.

Damn, some serious gear here, good to see audio junkies in Rams. I recently bought my Ram and am in the planning process for my system, I have a couple other vehicles with quality installs but after the Ford pics and verbal thrashing I'll pass on posting Yukon pics...LOL. I'll post my Ram when it's done, the Focal 3" pods leather wrapped with the logo on the grill is one of the nicest touches I've seen.....who ever did that was good! This post is inspiring thanks for making it, sorry I don't have any drool worthy pics yet.....soon though ;)

I customized the pods myself to make them work on the doors. I had the same shop that wrapped my sub box wrap the pods. As for the focal symbol, I moved the mids to the dash because that location gave me better staging. I thought how could I still use the pods so I came up with the idea of putting the Focal symbol there and added some LED back lighting and it turned out pretty good. It looks really cool at night.

I thought perhaps the reason they were there was staging but they look clean, euro/factory kinda minus the led logo....slick for sure!

That's 1 way to plug a hole. Good thinking.

I'll post pics in a bit but I'm running 3 way active with AC DM810 processor, SI TM65MKII mid bass (amazing drivers with gobs of midbass), HAT x3 CP mid range (favorite mid to date), SI M25 tweeter, and Zapco 150.6 amp.

Still working out what I want to do for a sub. I'm thinking of trying out an audiofrog as I've heard great things about them.

Heres my set up:
  • Foxbox Ported Drivers side with volume of .95 Cbft
  • Alpine Type S 10" 500w @2ohm Max 1500w optimnal at 1.04 Cbft
  • Alpine 500w Amp 500w RMS @2ohm
  • LC2I tapped into the stock Alpine 8"

Only complaint is port noise when it hits low bass at high volume. I am going to pad the sides with polyfill to see if that will help

Ill be adding an on/off switch to the system my puppy hates the ported box.

Oh and if anyone is looking for a sub they just added a Fifth generation Type S sub (my version has been discontinued this week). I almost switched for a free exchange but the new one likes 600rms @2ohm instead of 500w which isnt what I want considering I have them matched perfectly right now. The new Type S is also Max1800 watts instead of 1500.

1-10" VENTED SUB BOX FOR DRIVER SIDE

PORT/VENT TUNE FREQUENCY: 36 hz
MAX SUB FRAME SIZE: 11"
MOUNTING HOLE SIZE: 9.15"

Thats all the specs I currently have.

With the noise you’re describing your sub is pushing out more air than the port can handle causing the noise. It’s like putting the exhaust from a dart on an hellcat. Check with foxbox to see what the port specs are, the port may be to small.

Yea I figured thats the issue, but I dont want to lose the passenger side fold out floor so I have to deal ( I dont even hear it when I roll the windows down).

I was told by Crutchfield that some liner polyfill could help making the interior of the box smaller but who knows. Besides the port size the sub amount of air required in the box for the sub is damn close to the box size. Optimal size of a ported box for that sub is 1.04 and this box is .95.

I wouldn’t add poly fill because it will only take up more air space that you need.

Thats what I thought. She however said it was the opposite and that if I fill the box with that itll add filler to muffle out the port noise lol.

I am with you though. Pretty sure shes wrong shes going off the idea that my sub is good at .79 but thats the minimum requirements of room needed for the air lol.

Ill just leave it and turn it down lol

You're pretty close to ideal spec so I wouldn't mess with it. The polyfill can effect voice coil cooling.

Polyfill can fool the sub into behaving like it’s in a slightly larger box.
