So I been hearing this swoosh or air noise coming from the cold air intake area (Spectre cai :argue:), and its mostly happening when I'm speeding up in the highway and then letting off the gas pedal; it sounds like the air is coming back from the aluminum tube and to the air filter and out
I'm thinking this happens when the throttle plate closes or something like that, I'm an IT guy so I don't know much about it. Is this swoosh air sound normal? Thanks guys!

I had the open box K&N box intake on my old truck and it was annoying and does make the swoosh noise when letting off the gas pedal. SO you'll have to get use to the noise :D I recently bought the S&B true CAI system and it is about 1/3 the noise of my old K&N and a lot better product overall. It doesn't make the swooshing noise.

I used to love the whine of the kn during acceleration on my second gen but wanted something quieter so I got an sb intake on my truck now. No whine or whistle anymore.

I think the whole idea of an aftermarket CAI is to get that "it sounds like the secondaries opening up on a four barrel when you stomp it" sound right. I've ran them in the past and that's the part that makes it seem like it was worth the expense. Also if used in conjunction with a freer flowing exhaust it will sound that much better!

Looks like the engine compartment of a 2003 and up Mustang. Buddy bought a new one back in 2003 (390 horse supercharged 4.6 Cobra) and I got to ride in it a couple times and damn it was fast. I couldn't imagine that same ride in a Hellcat or Demon hell I would probably get so excited I would have a heart attack.

This is normal. My 5.7 1500 with Mopar CAI did it, and my 6.4 S&B does it. Especially at highway speeds as you experienced.

Close enough 1999-2004 mustang compartment actually. Mine is a 99 with slight mods hahahahaha

The noise from my Airaid intake sounds like a turbo at certain throttle positions.

Check all your hose clamps and fittings just to be sure it's tight, and if everything seems fine that noise is normal.

As stated above, open top CAIs have more throttle noise.
I had a K&N on my '03 4.7L that sounded like a poser blower at idle--whinny sucky vacuum sound, but discernable as CAI if you know what you're listening for.
Its unlikely that you would have a backflow issue since your set-up is naturally aspirated. You don't have ram air, a blower or turbo, so its not like you have a turbo that has built a pressure load in the intake that needs a relief valve when the TB closes down.
