New here, first post. Shopping for a truck, have my eye on a 2017 Big Horn Crew Cab. My wife is barely 5 ft tall, going to need running boards (or a ladder). Looking for something durable, on the wider side for a stable step.

Recommendations?

Stay away from NFab if you live where it snows ... They are not very wide, they fill with ice in the winter, and their powdercoat sucks ... Throwin mine away in the spring and gettin factories

I have a Ram 2500 and my wife is barely 5’3” I have the DeeZee NXT running boards and they work great for her. And even my 3 year old who is 3’ maybe.

Not Westin. Plastic step pads started crumbling apart in less than a year. My pretty 2 year old truck now looks like crap up close. Gonna try to get them line-x'd sometime

I have Westin HDX drop steps on my 2014 big horn crew cab. Wife is 5’3”. These are very stable and wide. Can easily balance on them without having to hold onto the truck. Powder coat seems good also. I also have a daughter about 3 feet tall and she can get into the truck with these as well

Stay away from ici magnum, they are a nice step however the way they mount is complete BS which results in too much flex. I plan on replacing the ****** washers with 1/4” steel and they should be a lot sturdier.

Another vote for the Westin HDX Drop Steps. I have them and love them. Front step is wider for easy access.

Another good option is the Westin HDX Extreme Running Boards just recently to market.

depends on the style and color and where you get them! I have the black mopar steps on my truck now and I got them for 350 plus 30 for the install kit from a local dealer. I found them for 350 to 495 depending on the dealer. You can also usually find new take offs on craigslist and offer up for pretty cheap!

One more vote for the OEM side steps. I just put a set on a couple of weeks ago. I also like the honeycomb pattern that matches the rest of the truck.

AMP if you're like me like the look of no steps. To be fair mine came with the truck as a hidden gem. But now I know I’ll always have to have them in every truck I own from here on out. They’re that good. There’s my steps lol
