i have wheels with a +12 offset and 2” spacers
If i want the same look without the spacers and look for rims to get the same look what negative offset would i be looking for.

Offsets are in mm ... 25.4mm = 1" ... Positive offset is in ... Spacers add negative offset as they move out ... 2" spacers = 50.8mm or -51 offset ... -51 + 12 = -39 offset

Ok that explains it. Now that i understand it i can make sense of it. I might go with a -24 or something like that

This might help or confuse you ... Offset is all relative to wheel width ... 0 offset is not the same backspacing for a 9" to a 10" to a 12" wide wheel ... Lots of wheel offset/tire size comparison programs out on google to confuse you further ... Loldeb6c6ee60749a5ef958128626752425.jpg

other useful info would have been how wide your current wheels are and how wide you are willing to go on new wheels because you can't get a -39 mm offset in any wheel. Also a higher negative offset is only available on wider wheels.

I calculated a few different sizes when I was looking for wheels and made this guide. The first is my stock 20x9 wheels and the rest are common sizes/offsets. The number to the right is how much further they will stick out than the stock wheels. Left is inward backspacing, right is outward.

Just a guess but you probably want a 10” wide -24mm to eliminate those spacers.

Also worth noting is some manufacturers do not always deepen the lip of the wheel the more negative the offset goes, but rather add surface to the mounting face of the wheel, which may not be what you’re looking for if you like a deep lip wheel for instance.

ok so i have a question myself that maybe someone can help with...

right now im running oem big horn 20x8s with 1.5" spacers.....if i was going to replace these with aftermarket 20x10s......what offset would give the the same amount of tire sticking out on each side of the truck?

and scenario #2: what if i wanted them out about .75" (19.05mm) further....i.e. what 20x10 wheel offset do i need to compare to the same oem wheels with a 2.25" spacer?

You’re looking at -12mm offset for scenario 1 which will stick out maybe a 1/4inch more

Scenario 2 you’d want -24mm offset

ok so stock 20x8s with a 2.25" bora spacer would look similar o a 20x10 with -24 offset then right?

thanks!

i wish i had a way to mock the wheels up and figure out if 2.25 or 2.5" spacers would look better......or if theyre even different enough to make much of a difference in reality.....

anyways thanks for the help!
