Just bought a 2018 2500, and coming from an '86 F350 and an '04 dodge 2500, the coil link feels a little soft.

My question is what can I do to take the bit of side roll out?

I was thinking Bilstein 5100 all around, but do they fit the stock height? Would that be enough?

I'm not interested in lifting or leveling (an inch or so I can deal with) as this is a work truck.

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm I don’t notice any body roll on My 2014 2500. I live in hill country tx and don’t exactly drive slow. Is everything tight under there? It’s still not sport truck but I think it handles great.

Same with my 2018 2500. No body roll and the coil springs work great for what we tow. Damn,,,,, now I am thinking, I haven't done any serious cornering in that truck. If I ever get it back from the dealer, I need to take a run up to the Sierra's.
Bilstein makes stock, application specific shocks for the 2500. PN# 24-269421 and 24-269439. Another Damn,,,I didn't want to replace the $1.69 factory shocks until I had about 12-15k miles.

Let me redirect a bit.. I don't feel like the truck is not HD, it's just not as stiff as I want it to be. I actually wanted to buy a 3500 for the leafs, but aside from ordering one I just couldn't find any with the specs I wanted.

I found a 2500 as close to my wish list as possible, and now I'm just messing with it a bit to get closer (34 x 12.5 x 18 ko2, leather reupholster, husky mats,...).

I like how it rides and handles, but it's a crew cab 8' bed and sometimes, say in a parking lot maneuvering, or on my job site, I feel a little sway. Not enough to call sloppy, just want to tighten up a bit.

I appreciate the comments all, keep it coming.

I have a Bigfoot overhead camper. I had to install Firestone airbags to stabilize the load.

Personally, I would just suggest driving getting use to the new truck and its suspension. Coming from different brands and suspension styles to a new one is more about overcoming sensory memory than anything else.

If still bound and determined, I would suggest polymer replacement sway bar bushings. They have less give and give more feedback on firmness.

Every time I have run BFGs they had a bit of a wiggle to them. That's why I have stuck with Toyos and Nittos with the three ply sidewall. That aside, I just put Airlift 7500 bags on the back, and even at minimum pressure you can tell they are there.

1 -the tires are contributing-
2 -helweig has a rear panhard bar “sway bar “ that will stiffen it up.

If you think it has body roll don’t drive a half ton lololol

Going from an ’04 Dodge and especially an ’86 of any truck, the amount of differences in materials, components and engineering between the 2018 could probably fill 100 pages. Unfortunately there probably isn’t a simple solution to your needs.

Most people complain about the ride being unbearably stiff, this is a first lol. Personally I love the way these new HDs ride and handle. It is just the kind of feel I wanted out of an HD truck. It became 100% perfect when I put the bigger meats on it.

I think a lot of people hear “springs” for a HD truck and just automatically form a bad opinion. They’re “soft” they can’t handle the weight, they are a weak link etc..... my truck handles everything I throw at it and it drives great. Honestly I didn’t even know I had rear springs till I was ordering my b&w gooseneck hitch.
