Right now I have a zone 6/5 lift with the bils set to stock. Really want to get more height and max the bils to 2.8, but also wanted to keep some rake while I do that. Is it possible to add 1.5 rear spacers on top of the 6/5 suspension lift that is already on it? And do I have it correct that keeping some rake means your UCAs will be at a better angle, less prone to ball joints popping?

Rake has nothing to do with UCA angles. You’ll want new UCA’s if you want good angles with Bils at 2.8” lift

Raising the rear another 1.5” might require longer rear sway bar end links to keep the angle down. Not sure about shock length either or brake hose

Thank you JB1 I was waiting for your input here lol. So it sounds like it might be more complex than to just add the spacers and raise the bils.. ill talk with my shop, but im more than likely just going to bite the bullet and buy the zone ucas then raise my bils... body lift will come later once im ready to go 37s

I have seen people add a 3/4” to 1” spacer on top of 5” coils, I’m just not sure about 1.5” spacer. I’m not saying you can’t do it, just keep those other items in mind.

If the Zone arms are too much $$ look at readlift.

37s

and the truck will look a hell of a lot bigger

thatd be my next step rather than adding spacers/jacking up bilsteins

your truck is looking good!

Ok cool, it's not like I'm deadset on 1.5 spacer but more always sounds better. Theres a guy on here who goes by Texasboy not sure if he still posts but he posted in the lifted trucks thread and he used the 1.5 in the rear, but he didnt go into detail about what went into it. He also had a procomp lift so not sure if that changes anything, but I'm going to keep looking into it.. obviously will post the aftermath pics once I get it done

I appreciate it man, your truck is looking nasty, you just upgraded to 37s correct?

I thought the spacers would allow me to set the bils high and circumvent the new UCA requirement, making it a cheaper option to get the truck lifted more, but JB1 corrected me on that.

You're probably right and might just be better off throwing the 3in BL when comes time.. I wonder how it would look if I left the bils stock and just threw it on... probably badass, might just go with that and forget about the bil settings... ahh decisions decisions.

i havent yet but i cant wait till the current 35s on my truck wear out so i can get 37s put on

your truck with a 3in BL and 37s (keeping the current stance) would look sick. and if you ever decided you could just bump the Bils up one setting without going 2.8 and not have to do UCAs etc.

looking forward to the progress with this truck........was cool to already see it go from stock to how it sits today

Procomp lifts the rear 4.5” with a huge bottom spacer, so if he added a 1.5” would be the same as your 5”+1” spacer. Procomp also uses 17” long sway bar end links where BDS is only 15” for some reason. Not sure about the brake line drop bracket

Ok not gonna lie your 35s look pretty big, I mistook them for 37s lol so once you get them they will be monstrous.

Now my thought process is the 3in BLs and the zone UCAs basically cost the same, but with the BL the entire truck will be taken up 3 instead of messing around with the Bils. I agree with you that will be a better decision and the truck will look better than doing my original plan with the rear spacers.

Glad to hear ya'll like the truck as much as I do, its been turning heads every which way, which I'm sure yours does as well!

Ok then that makes sense. You sure know all the nuances between these lift kits, it's impressive. lol.

I'm going to assume then the Zone is the same as the BDS and has the 15"

Now I'm just thinking doing the BL only and leaving the Bils stock... just for sake of discussion, how much do you think you can set the bils without having to worry about the UCAs?

Thanks, there’s quite a few members here that know a lot, I learn something every week.

Could you post a pic of one side of your front lift and a close up of the top portion of your strut?

The Zone/BDS kits use a preload spacer for 5/8” lift to make up the front lift on their 6” kits. When you use Bilsteins that preload spacer is not used, if he set your Bils at 0.0” and didn’t install that spacer then you didn’t even get a 6” front lift. For instance I have the 6” lift with Bils set at 2.6” for 8.6” total, subtract the 5/8” so I have approx 8” lift. My rake was right at 3”, so 3” rake plus 5” coils for total 8” so that’s why mine is level.

Since you like rake you could easily have the Bils set at 1.4” (with no preload spacer) and your UCA will probably be fine.

Op how are you enjoying your lift / tires ? [emoji2]

I think it looks awesome, big smile on my face when I leave work and see it in the lot. Rides great too, very smooth and the shocks handle bumps well. No complaints so far. My only regret is that I didnt get them sooner!

Ok there's no preload spacer which is correct. Looking at your control arms you can easily set them to 1.4" more or even 2.1" depending on how much rake you want.

looks really nice, congrats

Very nice indeed. Don't listen to @JB1 he will have you in 40's and a 4" body lift by Sunday. He's the devil.
