So finally getting the bils put in on Saturday and the rear TGC .75” rear spacer too. The question is, should I set the fronts to 2.1 or 2.8? The truck has 93k on her at this point and everything is stock with no issues that I can hear/feel/see. I do have a solid 3” of rake as well. In all of your wisdom, what would be your recommendations and why? Thanks fellas!

I did mine to 2.1, had a little less then .75 inch of rake (rear was slightly higher) after install.

IN MY OPINION, with the bigger hoods on these trucks, if they sit perfectly level I think they give off the appearance that the front sits higher.

But, I recently did new springs and shocks in the rear and got another .5 inch in the rear and I think it looks good.

I went 2.8 and put nothing in the back. It eliminated the rake altogether. I have a factory 3” rake. I later lifted the truck 4” Zone with 3” rear coils, and cranked Billies down to 2.1, and put in Zone UCAs.

Later, I pulled the 5100s, swapped in 6112s, set them to 2.2 and went with Zone 6”. I am putting a 1” rear coil spacer for level, as I am nose high. @markusaf81 is right about the hood offsetting the rake, optically.

So if I got 2.1 on the bils with the spacers in the rear I should have about 1” of rake and look pretty good?

Depends on your factory rake and of course your opinion!

I guess the main concern is if I go 2.8 would I have any issues to worry about?

From what I have read, everyones truck is slightly different...youd have to measure to get a better idea of before and after rake.

My original plan was to do 2.1 in the fron and .75 spacers in the rear. I'm glad I waited since the new springs and shocks gave me a half of an inch of lift.

As far as 2.8 and "concerns," Some guys say change UCA's, some say its fine, some say its fine but don't do heavy offroading....I would assume 90 percent of us are safe with 2.8.

I ran 2.8, no spacers, factory UCAs and 305x50x20 tires with no problems. I went off-road a few times in Ocotillo Wells, CA in heavy rocks and sand dunes, no issues. But when I later lifted, I did upgrade those UCAs.

In the reading that I have done, most people seem to recommend that if you go to 2.8 it is better to replace your UCA's. I set mine at 2.1 and replaced my UCA just cause it made me "feel" better and would prevent any problem that might happen. That's a little over cautious but like I said it makes me feel better.

Think I’m gonna go with the 2.8. Truck is a 2010 and has no issues with handling now. Plus with the 3”+ of rake it might not be enough at 2.1 with the spacer in the rear

I agree, if your adding a rear spacer, go for the 2.8 setting, if no spacer go with 2.1
