First post on this forum! I have 2018 sport 4x4 crew. I was thinking of doing a 1.5 spacer with 285/60/20 bfg ko2. I am also considering 275 65 with a 2.5 but trying for fuel economy issues and alsotrying to keep the truck stock as possible as I really like the sporty look. I live in northern Canada so way to much snow and I also hunt . I just cant make up my mind. I am coming from a 2015 f150 that was a 2.5/1 lift with 275 65 20 ko2. My biggest concern was the ko2 looked skinny. I love the tire though.

So I suppose my questions are: are 1.5 spacers ok? any pics with 285/60? or opinions in general. Any other way I should go?

Thanks in advance!

Spacers will do the trick. I've never really liked spacers but I've ran them before for a short time and never had any issues.

I personally hate the BFG KO2 tires. I hate everything but the sidewall look on them. I had the thread, I had the contour of the road patch (less tire contacts the road) - they are soft sidewalls (2500 trucks eat them up like nothing). I've purchased a fair share of used trucks that had them - and I can't stand them - one of the first things I did, replace the tires - even if they were brand new.

I hated them in the rain, the snow, sand and mud. In the snow - they get packed and become a huge bald tire. Since you're in Canada.. sure you don't want that..
Enough about the K02s.. haha

Good looking truck. I just did a level with the 5100 struts and set them at 2.8. Truck sits 100% level.

I had the ko2 for one winter up here. Seems duratracs are popular up here. Have them on work truck and find them brutal on ice. We have more cold temps like -30 to -40 for months and I found the ko2 to be the best. Our snow up here does not stick as it’s too cold. It’s more like sugar so I found them to be pretty good. But the no tread wear warranty is odd.

Thanks for the replies. Bowersfj have a side shot of your truck? sorry for all the quoting was using my mobile up till know and did not have the reply section.

But I have decided to do the bilstein upon more research. so the 275/65 and 285/60 is my two tire options. I suppose the biggest question is a 1/2 diameter noticeable on width and or diameter?

Here is a pic of mine with the 275-65-20 tire. It has bils @2.8 and 1.25 body lift, if that helps you.

Don't do spacers. You'll lose ride quality and will have bad angles with your ball joints and what not. With you having a 4x4, DEFINITELY do the adjustable bilstein shocks. A little extra money, but well worth it and your ride quality will actually improve some over stock (from my experience).

Get some bils. Set at 2.1 and put a .75 in the rear. Go with duratracs. They look better. Perform better. 275 may not look too skinny on a Ram as the tires naturally stick out due to the way the body is shaped. Fords fenders are more square and cover more hence giving the illusion that the tires are skinny. They also look bigger than a Ram.

I got my duratracs at crappy tire on sale and got 20x the point. Sold my stock tires within hours for $400 and brought my cost down to $1000 for all 4. Gave me $116 Canadian tire money on top of that.

A level kit to be honest will not effect your MPG that bad. The rear spacer will give you a bit of rack and the front bumper has that valance on the bottom to defect wind away from undercarriage

Mods: EGR matte black bug deflector, Westin HDX drop steps, rough county bull bar with 20” LED, custom made NW seat covers in real tree camo, husky liner mats, husky liner mud guards, undercover LUX tonneau cover, Tailgate assist, flowmaster super 40 with resonators, tinted 15% front, LED C shaped tail lights. Line-X 5.7’ box

I fully agree about the duratrac look way better! They just had them on sale too. But I driven both and prefer the ko2. The one thing I definitely am doing is the bilstein struts. I have to travel 800 Kms to the nearest city so mileage and icy highways is my major concern. Thanks for the input much appreciated

Thompson mb. Closer to polar bears than the U.S border. I hunt moose and drive in six months of snow. now that I have a truck with a plastic front end and long hwy drives might explain why I'm worried about making a wrong decision.

Wow..... I’m in southern Ontario and further south than parts of the US lol. No polar bears here. Just lunatics. I’d rather deal with polar bears sometimes.

Anyways, level with a bit of rake and that should help with fuel mileage. Honestly the duratracs have been amazing for me. Last winter I had some bad drives to work in ice and slush and they perform well. I haven’t had them in mud yet partly because those days are behind me, however, these tires have some of the best reviews. I think the most common among the cons is the noise. Mine have been great for that but I think it happens when they wear down a little. Co worker of mine got about 80,000 out of his so worth the money IMHO.

Look up PMC tire. They have a great website for reviews and lots options. They may also ship for free
