So I went and gave her a good spin today. Everything was good as I drove it. Got out and checked everything and found a couple of things that have issues. It needs tires, the bedliner needs to have the screws or clips put in it so it doesnt blow out (it was lifting at 60 mph), and the vinyl is starting to peel from the b pillar. Then on the inside, I noticed the drivers side mirror wouldnt move left or right. It would move up and down, but not left or right. Didn't have my truck there as a trade quite yet. I have stereo equipment to remove first. But he came back with a final of 21,000. What do you guys think?

$21k sounds better than before. that'll help with all the things you need to do with it. Namely the tires and new mirror. Did you talk him down to the $21k or did he lower the price on his own?

He gave a lowest, I gave him my offer and he said he'd go 21000. That's where it stands right now. I'll see what happens on trade in value.

Looking at the Carfax it shows that it began its life as a rental, thats something that may or may not matter to you. Also, I doubt it came with an LSD but you can pull the build sheet here ( https://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/index.html ) under equipment listing on the left. Personally looking at the Carfax and mileage I would see if you could go lower price wise, or get tires and a mopar extended warranty thrown in if you really wanted this truck.

Yeah, the more I read, the more I think I'd pass...Ram makes lots of trucks, so wait for the right one to come along. This rig does not seem like "it."

I'd go lower on the rear end (numerically higher) and get an LSD.

I'll see what he can do as far as a trade in. But I was going to see for that price if he'd replace the tires and see about a mopar extended warranty. Maybe get that side mirror fixed too.

They might replace the tires, but be specific. If you are not, they will throw on the cheapest Chinese no name tires they can find.

Longtime lurker here. So as the title says, I'm looking at a 2015 Big Horn to go and test drive. It's a quad cab, 4x2, hemi, 8 speed, 3.21 rear with almost 54,000 miles for almost $23,000. I currently own a 2010 quad cab ram with 178xxx 4.7l. What do you guys look for when buying a ram? My current ram is my first one and I have personally put about 74,000 miles on it. It's been solid. Other than a water pump going out and changing the spark plugs, she's been a really good truck. Any surprises I should look for when I test it out? What about the price? Thanks in advance.

Edit: Here's a link to it.

Last December, I bought a 2016 Big Horn with 43,000 miles on it equipped like one you're looking at for $24,400.00. It's 4 wheel drive in great shape.

I got the guy down to 21000 with a 5000 trade in on my 2010 ST with 178500 on her. Not bad. I believe I'll jump on it while I can. Don't find many good deals around here and I don't have the time to go to a bigger city to get screwed over worse. Plus I'm putting about 64 miles, work travel, on her everyday. So I'd lose trade in value way even more if I post pone it waiting for a better deal. So at least I'll have a Big Horn with 55000 miles on it. Not too bad IMHO. Like I said, 4x4 isn't a priority for me. Don't really need it. Don't live out on dirt roads and it doesn't snow a whole lot. So it's all good here. How you liking your truck?

Bought my '16 1500 Outdoorsman 4X4 5.7l Crew Cab 6'4" bed with 17k on it for $25,500 last year.
You mentioned five kids, I would seriously recommend a crew cab over a quad cab. The size difference is substantial.

Funny you say that because they had a '14, but had the 6 speed in it. It didn't sound right when I started it up and passed on it. My 2 older kids are 16 and don't really go with us anywhere. lol. They do their own thing. But needless to say, we all do fit in there. It is a nice truck and got everything squared away. I will pick it up today or tomorrow.
