K&N (oiled)
AEM dryflow
aFe dryflow S
Green filter (oiled)

I’ve used AEM in the past and have been leaning that way but seems a lot of people really like the aFe dryflow as well.

Really boils down to if you want to have to worry about re-oiling or not.

i put the k and n cold air on mine and did notice a difference it seems a bit better on takeoff and does seem to pull a little better when i have my 11,000# camper on it. fuel mileage may be better but it sounds way to cool at wot to be able to see a mpg difference

Drop in vs CAI is different.

Especially if the truck has other mods such as tuner, exhaust, or even headers. That’s when CAI can make maximum difference.

Most go with the mindset of closed box systems are preferred to avoid heat soak and turning your CAI into a hot air intake.

I use the K&N for the added filtration and longevity of the filter.
But when I added the K&N sticker to my window I noticed 5mph increase
I used to sticker charge the **** out of vehicles when i was younger.. always gave it that extra power when beatin the streets lmao

The factory box pulls nice cool air from the front fender, most "CAI's" pull air from the engine bay. Which one is a CAI, the one that draws air from the fender or the engine bay? You can get a high flow filter for your factory box, just maybe change it more often. I don't have an air problem, I'm gonna order a washable filter 40 bucks off amazon. I don't like the idea of oiled one's, just my opinion.

The one thing i dont understand is why pull air from the fender not directly from the front grille. My wife's Santa Fe Sport has a tiny 2.4L 4 cylinder engine and the airbox setup is to pull air diretly from the front grille in a nice wide opening. I just dont understand why FCA engineers would not think of that

I would imagine people using their trucks off road has to have a little to do with that. Especially with the liners and what not in the fender.

FCA does have headlights that are open as air intakes in the challengers. I actually believe the AFE momentum utilizes this for their CAI. It’s part CAI and the part ram arm from the headlight.

The oiled style will filter longer/better and be just as efficient as a new paper..As paper clogs it leans out your mixture..An oiled style filter continues to do a good filtration cause of its make up..

ive used a k&N kit for about a couple of months now. i haven't noticed a performance increase or fuel economy. But i do find the noise with WOT very entertaining
