Letter received from FCA today

Had read a post before about someone having to weld their fuel tank strap because it rusted out. Looks to be a common issue if this is the case.
Unfortunately I havent yet got under the truck to drill a hole where the salt and water collects.
Anyone else receive?

There is a recall here for the fuel tank strap. They install a reinforcement bracket. My wife is the manager of the service dept at a local dodge dealership. I got her to print me out the tech instructions for the recall. They notch out your crossmember and add a reinforcement bracket.

The gas tank straps mounting plates have a huge design flaw. There are no drain holes in them so the water/salt/dirt gets inside and just sits there rotting it out. You are going to want to drill drain holes in the two drivers side strap mounts as well as the 2 crossmember attachment points on the passengers side. It wasnt a recall that was sent out, it was an extended warranty to 12 years due to the straps breaking.

these recalls are sooooooooo weird

technically my 17 shoulda got the cruise control and auto park recall - it didnt

today i got a letter for tailgate recall........

wtf batman, everyone posting about the other 2 recalls and I get this lol

I'm wandering if the fuel tank strap will turn into a recall. When the auto park was first issued it was issued as a customer satisfaction something or other. Shortly after it was listed as a recall.

I just got my letter for this as well. Haven't heard a word about the tailgate recall yet.

I dont think anyone said it was a recall until after your post..
I am also waiting on tailgate recall letter.

I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I would think there would need to be a set number of complaints or number of repairs done.
