Hi, I just bought a 2019 Ram Bighorn on the 10th of Aug. and yesterday and today I have experienced a bizarre problem. First thing in the morning while preparing to leave for work the key fob would not unlock door so I used the key to enter only to find the vehicle acted like it had absolutely no power , no chimes lights would not even unlock other doors from the door button much less start. Ended up being late to work due to needing to find other means, but when I got home truck acted normaly and unlocked and started right up. Plan to take it in first thing friday morning provided it starts again, any one else suffer anything similar?

Next time something like that happens, take a video of it as proof. Some dealers like to claim they are unable to replicate and no issue.

No, but did you check for loose batt terminal connection?

"No", in that mine is a 2005, but "yes" I have had that inasmuch a few years ago I went through a few days/weeks off-n-on where on of my battery terminal connection (i can't remember which one) kept coming loose. The little bolt was turned all the tight and it seemed like either the batt post was too small for my cable or the cable couldn't constrict enough to grip the post; driving bumps would occasionally knock it loose.
I can't remember how I fixed it - either I just canked down even tighter than "all the way closed" or when I got another batt I was fine. Either way, that was the prob, it came - n - went for a season but no problems before or since.

On the A/C issue. Does anyone have temps and settings before and after fix?

I don't feel like Ram is as cold as my past cars but I don't know if it's due to the A/C efficiency changes mentioned on this thread.

Here are my numbers & settings, also shown in picture, after driving with the AC on for ~15min
Outside Air Temp: 79Deg
Vent Temp: 52.5Deg (steady to within 1 degree)
Temp Setting: Lo
Fan Speed: 5
Recirc: On

My last car, 2010 Infiniti G37x with the same test but 88Deg outside was blowing at 42Deg vent temp.

Any input is appreciated!

I know there is a chart with outside temp and humidity to what temp the unit will condition the air to. I can’t find one for the new Freon. I don’t know if it’s much different than the R134.

It’s definitely only a problem with the new RAMs. My 2015 and 2017 RAMs will freeze your ass off no matter how hot it is outside. That was the first thing I noticed when we test drove a 2019 the other week. Hopefully they start getting some of these bugs worked out pretty soon!

I also checked my A/C temp at the center vent with a gauge. My best output temp has been 53 deg, but usually hangs around 54-55 deg no matter what outside temp and humidity are. Been checked by the dealer, was a little low on freon but no other problem found. Definitely not as cool as my ‘14 RAM was.

Clunk noise was a loose sway bar bolt. Will update after a week or two to see if it comes back.

I have the same clunk when turning right at low speeds from stop signs, etc. I have seen this issue brought up on other forums. Dealers have begun fixing it according to posts. It involves the body isolator (not sure what that is) and bolts attaching it to the cab. Many people have the issue so I bet it will be a TSB. Other than that- I have luckily had no other issues yet (I've only had the truck for 1 week). Love the truck and I am confident these problems will be fixed

I’ve had the exact same thing happen multiple times, once I do get the vehicle to start the backup camera doesn’t function and neither does satellite radio, if I turn the vehicle off and back on everything works as it should.

I must be lucky! I have 2300 miles no issues what so ever with whats listed....I have hearing aids and turned up to 100% could not hear any whistling...cab is dry...nav is fine....no Issues with screen but I never got the 12 inch....no brake noise...Dammed fine truck so far! :)

Took a few times in out and out to get used to the "Thump" when power steps come in.

Mike this happened to my charger. In my case, disconnecting the battery and reconnecting after some time worked. It only happened once with me in almost 3 years of ownership. Weirdest "bug" I've seen...

Before I get my RAM I will take an Infrared thermometer to the dealer and measure it. If not cooling properly I will put as a condition for them to fix it prior to closing the deal. I do wonder what the current specification is for a "proper" temperature at the vent. Here in TX, with temps above 100F, you really need a car that can keep the interior cool..

My 19 is by far colder than my 14 but the 14 Cooled just fine. Never noticed it until the 19 started freezing my butt off!

^^^^^^ Buy a set of decent aftermarket pads like Carbo tech or EBC .You've probably spent more in time and money going back and forth to the dealer than you would have spent on a set of pads. If you aren't comfortable doing your own wrenching contact your dealer and see if you supply the pads would they install and write off the labor as goodwill

Try bedding them. EBC recommends a series of HARD stops from like 60mph and then driving for a few hundred miles trying to avoid any hard stops. Once you hit the mileage, a series of hard stops and they should be bedded.

Just started getting a clunking noise that I can heard over bumps and slow speeds. Def coming from the outside of the truck. Crawled under and didn't see anything loose. Going to set up a dealer visit soon for that, squeaky brakes, and whistling noise.

+ 1 here. I just picked up my Laramie last Friday and one of the things I notice is a pop or maybe even more of a thump from the front suspension on the driver's side. It seems to be close to the footwell area. This is an occasional thing that I notice mostly at low speed and a tight turn (if not full lock) on a left hand turn with maybe a change in grade thrown in there, like pulling out of my driveway which is on a hill. Interested to know what you find out.

I currently have it at the dealer for the clunking noise and the weak AC. I will report when it's back.
