Had a hydroplane incident while driving in a rainstorm on I-10 in Texas about 80 miles west of Houston. The truck spun around and hit the highway cable barriers. My 1500 hit the barrier on 3 sides and spun back on to the interstate. Prior to coming to a stop I was able to pull back off into the shoulder.
While the 1500 was totaled I walked away with some slightly bruised ribs from hitting the center console during the spin. (I was wearing my seat belt). The truck performed very well in the crash and had the front bumper not pushed back in to my wheel I could have driven it to the next exit without issue
When I was in the Army jumping out of planes I was told any landing you can walk away from is a good landing, I feel the same way about vehicle accidents. My Ram protected me and I walked away!
Now I have to make the decision to buy the new blacked out 2019 with the 12" screen or buy used and save $20K...
