I hate it when I’m polishing my truck and a n air hose or water hose touches my truck. It makes me think well **** now I gotta do that section again. And there’s no way around it.

or, mount a system up in the ceiling so the cord is kept above the work surface, rather than level with it.

Extension cords, extra length of air hose, etc., is needed so that the line always comes up from behind you. It's especially important if you're using something like an electric hedge trimmer.

I had a neighbor once who wanted to borrow my 50' extension cord so he could trim his shrubs. His wife called over "loan that at your own risk. He just cut one in two." So I replied, "Well, once you've done that, you're not likely to do it again." Ha-ha. I went over to retrieve the extension a short while later and he had his cord there, cut off about three feet from the cap end. On the wall, hanging there, was another one with a repair in it about three feet from the cap end. Well, shut my mouth, I thought. At least I got mine back intact.

Some folks learn waaaaayy slower than others. They tend to remember stuff if it hurts a lot when they mess up.

When I first met my My Mother-in-law in 1982, she had a vacuum cleaner with, no lie, at least 30 tape repairs on the cord. I took out my knife and cut it off at the machine so she wouldn't get hurt before I could wire up a new one.

That was my dumb coming out I found out later. Live & Learn.

No garage yes I have every tool possible to do any job the correct way. I do have a tool room that looks like a machine shop. But all work is done outside hot or cold and not under a tree either. Just plain old sun light

Didn't I see a nice blue truck parked under your raised house? Am I confusing that with somebody else?

I don't know how people live without a garage. Mine isn't big enough, and here you don't even have one.

I have buddy who's has had a truck for two years and always commented about how mine just looks "cleaner" but he couldn't put a finger on why. So I asked about his process. He took his truck to a do it yourself car wash. Never cleaned the paint, never cleaned inside the wheel wells, etc. So I had him come over and took him through three hours of detailing work. He was blown away.

I understand "the truck is a truck" thing, but after spending as much money as we do on these damn things, it sure doesn't hurt to spend a little time keeping them looking nice. IMHO--it's just personal pride!

Kinda reminds me of my Dad telling me that I would never leave the house to go to school without polishing my shoes.

I bought a new Corvette back in 2004, and spent a lot of time on the Corvette Forum. Man, you talk about being **** about detailing! But I learned a lot about detailing from that forum. One of my favorites is using an electric leaf blower to dry the vehicle.

I spend a good 3 or 4 hours pulling wheels and cleaning the undercarriage of my truck every time i get back from a work trip. Mud out there dries like cement under there. Never mind all the time clay barring after i wash the outside and cleaning the mud out of the interior. Most of my friends and family think my truck is a pavement queen because the first thing i do when i get it home it take out all my work gear and detail it so they never see it like it is most of the time.20180913_044806.jpga lot like this. I really would like to have an outdoor 2 or 4 post hoist to make cleaning underneath easier than laying on my back in all the mud i wash off it.

Low top carport I just barely fit. Now that I put 35’s on it it’s even tighter

Going to be pretty tough raising the house if you decide to go to 37's. LOL

Yeah I’m just glad it’s a stand alone carport. But I can’t leave it out in the driveway cause the pecan trees drip so much sap... nastiness

If you've finished your truck in 60 minutes or less, it's still filthy.
