Looks great! Any idea on the offset? And how far out beyond the truck do they stick out?

Thanks!

From the AEV page:
Offset +27mm
Backspacing 5.31"

Looks like the tread itself sticks out maybe a half inch from the plastic flares and about 2" at the widest point on the sidewall. It's enough that the front mud flaps help, but not enough to look monster-truck-ish ;)

Well after much back and forth I pulled the trigger on the same wheel/tire combo as the OP. The wheels came in today, now just waiting on the tires and procal. Thanks for the inspiration Wyatt!

I am definitely considering the same setup for my PW!! Love the look, quick question though, if you had gotten the same tire but in 17's vs 18's, would the tire fit in the spare tire well? Any slight mods you think you could do to the spare tire well to "squeeze" the 18's in there? I really don't want to lose the bed space! I don't tow, but I use my bed for a lot! I'd prefer the 18's, but not sure there would be a big different between them and the 17's.!

The size of the rim doesn’t change the overall circumference of the tire. I’ll be looking for a slightly worn 35 to fit up in there. If that doesn’t work I may get another Salta wheel and new Toyo and mount it to the bed sidewall like was done in the 60s. That would give me the ability to rotate 5 tires like the Jeeps do.

Let us know how that works! Putting the tire "upright" in a mount up front in the bed wouldn't be bad...definitely "old school"!

If you're referring to the AEV with Toyo set up, the Salta doesn't come in anything other than a 17 inch wheel.

Another option, and one I'll be doing is on board air. You can air the spare down to 25 psi and it'll fit in the spare tire area. It'll be super tight, but it fits. Then when you need it you just air it back up with your on board system.

I was looking at those "on board air" systems....are you literally talking the type that is mounted under the hood? Or carrying a "air pig" around in the back of the truck? Always lots of options!

Not gonna mount it under the hood. I'm looking at doing it underneath the bed, right behind the cab on the passenger side. Looking at either ARB or Viair compressors. Don't have to have the tank. There are numerous options. If I'd had the option of the RAM box I'd use that for mounting.

Guess if I wasn't trying to fit the spare in it's "original" space, I could mount it in the spare tire well! The big plus to having the tire in the bed (mounted tastefully of course!) is that it is much easier to get to there, AND I could also mount a stand jack there as well...would make changing a tire a 10-15 minute affair instead of the 45minutes to 1 hour it currently takes to change a flat!

That was my second option. Guy who used to live on my street had is spare for his Cummins mounted that way. He said he liked it, but had to take it out a lot when he would fill the bed up and actually got a flat one time and didn't have a spare when it happened. So that would be my only concern.

If the spare sits where the picture is showing, it shouldn't need to come out very often. Even when putting a lot in the bed! At least in my case it shouldn't.

Agreed. It’s shouldn’t take up much more that 1/4 of the bed space the ram boxes do. When I go camping I’ll just take it out and throw it under the truck to make room for my air mattress. That’s how it’s currently working out in my head anyway.

Thanks, I think I'll try 55 front/60 rear before trying 50/55, which is getting close to the TPMS

Where did you settle at ref PSI? I got my wheels and tires installed today and am scheduled to reset the TPMS tomorrow. Also how low did you set your thresholds?

IIRC, the ProCal let me set one PSI for both front and rear and that's it – I think 50 and 30 were my choices for lowering it. I set it at 50 and have kept my PSI there with good results, but probably should have set it at 30, which would have let me air down off road to 25 without tripping the warning.

I kept my factory spare in place, giving me one full size spare and one emergency spare.

Awesome! Post up pics. Also – install the trim hole filler bolts yourself. The tire place may try to screw them in without using the thread-cleaning bolt in all the holes first, and they get jammed in half way. I had to painstakingly unscrew all mine with needle nose pliers and have AEV send me another set.
