Has anybody experienced the air conditioning or compressor "turning on by itself"? Lately I've been driving with AUTO off and A/C button off with regular air coming through the front vents. But suddenly the temp out the vents will drop and I'll actually hear the fans in the front grille on as if the AC is on.

Check in your settings to see if your air is set to auto set point temp. Like my wipers are set to come on when they sense rain.

Where would that be? I don't recall seeing a setting with that kind of possible meaning before.

Yes, I've seen the same thing and I know it was NOT set to auto. I did verify that the compressor clutch is engaged. It doesn't do it in the winter from what I can tell.

What did you do about it? I have an appointment with the dealer on Sat.

Well, I took it in and they found no faults. They said that they checked everything including the vent actuators in the dash and found nothing. I guess oh well for now.

I am experiencing the same thing on my new 2019 1500 Bighorn- cold air blowing randomly when the air conditioning is off and the Auto temperature is off. I have taken it to the dealership and they could not find anything. I having them check again when I take it in for an oil change and tire rotation. I have noticed that, while random, it tends to occur more often when I am accelerating or going up a hill. I thought I had read something about a blend door which may not be working correctly or maybe it is a software issue. I have no clue, but it is definitely strange.

My truck does it also. It's been hot so I rarely don't have the air on but I've noticed it a couple of times in the 2 months I've owned it. Weird but I don't mind the cold air!
