I know most people will say "Sell it and buy a hemi", but no. I like my single cab, short bed V6, and I want to do a turbo kit. I know sprintex makes a blower for the truck, but I want to do a turbo kit. Single, smaller turbo to give me a moderate power boost without blowing the converter/trans. Does anybody know where to buy/how to build a turbo kit for the 3.6 pentastars??

Thanks in advance

Check out Ripp mods. I know they do alot of work with the 3.6 jeep... Maybe they can twerk some of their existing setups to ram it in there

Interesting :) I googled Pentastar Turbo Kit's and found a ton of Turbo's ,as mentioned most listed for JEEPS or Chargers, so my guess is they should be able to make one for the RAM'S :) BUY Damnnnnnnnn Close to 5k$ and they say you need a new PCM . For all the extra cost :O IMO not worth it, BUT if you can afford it :) it would be interesting to hear the results

I know RIPP does jeep blowers and Prodigy does Jeep turbos, but I can't find anyone that does ram turbos. I was wanting to maybe do my own kit for cheap and see how it went. I've asked both RIPP and Prodigy if their kit would fit the ram, even with a little tweaking, and they told me "no".

I don't know that I would consider it given the Pentastar Rams come equipped with the 8hp40 8spd vs the 8hp70 the Hemi uses. The 70 can handle more torque.

I was under the impression the rams still get the 8hp70 regardless of anyone. I thought that 40 or 45 was for the jeeps

That's what I thought too up until a month or so ago when someone here set me straight on that.

Pentastar powered Rams use the lower torque capacity 8hp40. The main reason why 3.6's along with 3.21 gears have such a pathetic tow capacity recommendation.

The pentastar rams get the 8hp45. It can handle up to 332ft-lbs of toque. The ram comes with 265-270, so there's a little bit of play, but not much.

If you are looking for a kit, i think the only available for a ram is sts turbo. Not even sure if they make them or not anymore. Also, i dont think they have a good reputation. Other than that, do you have any performance shops near you that does turbo setups? If so, stop in and see what they would charge.
Not sure how far you are from Jacksonville Fl, but check out Stage 6 Motorsports. They are good at what they do.

Because of CAFE standards I could see Ram putting a turbo on the 3.6 and getting some big grunt from the little motor while still getting good mpg on the tests. The 3.6 has amazing power for its size and should be a good candidate for a turbo all though PoMansRam is right about the tranny being a weak link.

Iirc, the Pentastar was designed to have a turbo added during production with out any redesign required.
