Ok Im completely out of ideas. I have a 2001 Dodge 1500 360, the p0442 keeps popping up. I have traced every line I can, I had it the garage 2 to have it smoked and they found no leaks, told me twice it was the fuel vapor leak detection pump which did not work, told me when they tested it the pump failed due to not closing??? Not sure what that means, I did replace the gas cap and the filler tube because it looked like it had pins holes in it. What am I missing? What else should I test. He did say something about a relay?

Typically its a gas cap not sealing all the way. But its a small leak detection so most likely just a fuzz out of range for the sensor to trip the light. If you reset the codes how long does it take before the code returns?

You probably have a very small crack or hole in one of the evap lines then.
