So... I have a setting in my 2018 Laramie that is to set the Approach Lighting delay. Now I "thought" this would be how long the truck stays lit up as I approach. Trouble is, the lights don't even come on.

What am I missing?

The dealer set all this up up as part of getting the truck ready for sale. I am unsure if you have to have dealer do it or if you can do it without 8.4 radio.

Mine has that setting also, and my lights don't come on until I touch the door handle. I expected, just like you, that the lights would come on when I walked up. If someone has them come on when you walk up, what did you do to enable that?

***EDIT***
Just looked in the manual and it says: "NOTE: When the "Headlight On Approach" feature is selected, it allows the adjustment of the amount of time the headlights remain on when the doors are unlocked with the key fob"

So I think that means if you unlock it with the button on the fob, the lights will stay on for 30, 60 or 90 seconds depending which you select. But it doesn't mean they will "sense" your approach and turn on automagically (though that would be cool). You need to push the fob unlock (or touch the door handle) for them to come on.

Exactly!! My 17 I have set for 30 sec. Hit the fob/unlock and lights stay on for 30 seconds. If I dont unlock with fob truck wont light up on approach. There is no motion sensor for approach I am aware of

The new Navigator has what would actually be "approach" lighting. For $100k it should!

Thanks guys. A car we had previously did light up when it sensed the fob. Not to worry at least I know now.

The purpose of the fob is so you don’t take it out of your pocket. A bit silly when you have to to unlock the doors and get lights.

Oh PS.... my Laramie retails down here for $109K!!!
