Hey so I am getting ready to buy tires, size 285/75r18, and I have narrowed it down to three:
-Goodyear Duratrac
-Faulken Wildpeak at3w
-copper at3 xlt

I had duratrac's on my old truck and absolutely loved them but I am looking at other options that are a little cheaper. My truck gets used and a work truck and it has to go down the highway to work every day but then it is in the mud, also snow and ice in the winter, all day pulling out s**t that is stuck and pulling a wood trailer. What would you guys recomend?

There's a Faulkner tire tread, and I think it's the wild peaks, that turns to crap once they get work down. Whenever I see people withy those tires I think they must be pissed. Cause that's not the original tread type the paid for.

I've had really good luck with Nitto G2 and the Hankook dynapro at/m. Both were quiet, and I got 70k miles out of them.

I have cooper at3’s on my Chevy avalanche work truck. Perform great in the snow and mud and are very quiet. Personally I would buy them again when they wear out

Think in terms of function, price and looks, I’ve learned with the years the best tires have all the same color, and they’re all rounded, so it always come down to usage, cost, and how I want too see the vehicle looking like.

Go with the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W. My brother and I both have their E rated and they have performed better than any other AT tire we've tried - and we have tried all of the best.

Never heard of the problem novelmike refers to. I did a google review and did not find any reference to novelmike's comment. In fact, you'll find they are highly rated.

As you probably know, the "W "stands for their snow rating where they are outstanding.

A great tire and priced lower than the others.

I have the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W on my truck now. I have been disappointed with them. Only 25,000 miles and need new tires. Have one that for last 10,000 miles vibrates. Have had it balanced several times and still vibrates. I will not be getting anymore.
My brother got them for his Chevy and has already got rid of them. Didn't last him 10,000 miles.
I think I'm getting DuraTrac's or BFG's this go round.

Remember when it comes to tires, you get what you pay for. Last tires i would ever buy is cooper.
I've put cooper tires on every single vehicle I've ever owned and never had one problem. Had two sets of the discoverer a/t on my wife's Honda pilot. Can't say how they'd be on the ram though. I'll have to cross that bridge when my bfg duelers give up. AND, all of my cooper's were made right here in ohio. #merica

I've got the Cooper STT Pro's on my Ram and absolutely love them. They are without a doubt the best tire I've owned.

Out of the one the OP mentioned I'd go with the Duratracs. I've got them as my winter tires and have no complaints about them either.

Me and my brother both installed cooper tires on the same day. Neither set lasted 20K and both had alignments done before install, and rotations done at oil changes. Tires were completely bald.
Without a doubt the worst tires I ever owned.

Goodyear would be my choice. I worked in the tire industry for over 10 years, Goodyear and Michelin get great mileage out of the tread and will withstand towing and pressure of the day to day. I have the Cooper STT tire on my Jeep JKU in a 35, it has done well on the Jeep but it's not heavy and does feather easily. I also ran Coopers on a 73 GMC K10, they wore fast and uneven.

What model of coopers? Ive run plenty of coopers over the years and never saw that kind of mileage out of them even the junk china knock offs are good for 30-40k properly inflated and rotated.

I have a set of Falken AT3W in 285/70/17 for my Silverado, and 315/70/17 for the RAM, set in the Silverado is P rated, the one in the RAM is E rated, both are wearing well so far, but they’re still kind of new with about 5k miles, first time for me running these tires, so far rain traction has been outstanding, I’ll get to test winter traction in a couple of months from now.

Had great success with Cooper AT3 on my previous truck. They wore great, rode great, and were low noise. I'll be looking at them when the Ram needs new shoes.
