Yes. But I can't kill them. My 6 week old truck is now wearing serious scratches on the driver side bedside due to a cat trying to jump up there. Is there some way to deter those ridiculous creatures from ruining my paint job??

Neighbor is a good friend. I figure there's got to be a way to deter the cats.

I'll probably try mothballs.

Ceramic coating the paint seems to keep the outside cats from being able to scratch up the truck. That being said I'd rather have cat scratches then ******* squirrels eating the hippy soy based wire insulation on the harnesses. Living out on a pecan orchard those little ******** are everywhere (Before the outdoor cats they killed my grandfathers Chevy PCM harness twice) and I take great pleasure in watching the cats viciously murder them.

Cats don't like a surface such as 3/4" crushed stone. A uniform size is sharp, unstable, and they don't like it. They also don't like the smell of rosemary (herb). I don't know if that could help, but it isn't bad info to know.

I've also read on here somewhere that they (mice, rats, squirrels) hate the smell of those little green Christmas tree air fresheners. I use the mothballs but that smell does get in the cab from time to time and doesn't smell too good to me either. If it works for vermin it should also work the cats too although I don't think anything that's left out in the open is going to last for very long. The mothballs work great under the hood.

I use the same "humane traps" that I use for raccoons. Except, that I don't whack the cats and feed them to the vultures, like I do the *****. A fussed up cat in a box trap is A#1 coyote bait. You put a hissing/howling cat in a trap on a tree-line at dusk, and it'll draw in any coyote within ear-shot (which is 1/2 mile or more for them). Plunk ole Wile E., then let the cat go near a neighboring farm (farms always need new mouse chasers).

Get a dog....***** cat's are usually afraid of doggies. One chase from a dog, and your likely not gonna see 'kitty cat' till next year (I know, next year another stand-off is required).

Even a dog bark could send ***** running. (Hopefully)
