Hey guys! Was doing some homework on changing my tire size to 35s. I happen to stumble across this new product. Supposedly works for our 2500s as well.

I was curious if anyone had any luck with it. Might save us the headache of having to get a tuner out of the gate.

Why pay AEV Procal money for a product that does one function?

Kinda my thought as well. And with the procal you still need to go to the dealer if I'm not mistaken?

After lifting my Ram, I actually tried to purchase the RC speedo but they said it was no longer offered. I wanted to get my speedo corrected quickly because I felt shift points were off with the new tires (35's). I took it to dealer and they tried to get it set for free but said it was still 2mph off. Told me about the pro-cal for $170, I believe. I ended up just buying it. They had told me over the phone they would charge $110 for labor even though it would only take a few minutes. I had just sunk over four g's into the truck so I figured let's just get it done and they ended up not charging me for the labor! Love the truck, glad I went ahead and purchased the pro-cal. I do agree though, pretty expensive and you supposedly have to take it to dealer to use it. If you are thinking of buying a tuner down the road, I'd just do that and use it to set the speedo correctly as most can do perform that function that I've seen on the market.

If the RC calibrate works without having to go to dealer to finalize the tune I would definitely buy it over AEV procal. I'm not a huge fan of AEV they make some neat items that are very overpriced. Also the procal for 2018 trucks you still have to modify to use it, by pulling out some pins??? To me that is bs!! As long as it took them to bring it out it should be totally plug and play. Also having my fog lights on with high beams is not a priority to me. As high as my truck sits now I have people flashing me with low beams on.

Search for the thread on AlfaOBD. For about $80 (Software and OBDII Module) you can not only set tire size, but do all kinds of stuff like add options your truck never came with.

What’s the max height setting thru Alphaobd?

Not sure to be honest. It just gives a bunch of different tire size options to chose from. I’ll hook it up and see what I can find.

I don't remember where, but I read that this calibrator won't work with the 6.4 which it looks like you have. Definitely don't take that as gospel, but just a heads up.

There is also the RAM Tazer that can do everything the ProCal does and some other cool stuff. Like the ability to turn off the electronic nannies, add a camera, winch mode.

Thanks for the pointer. The RAM Tazer looks like the most full functioned tool in the $170 - $250 price range. I especially like the 'winch mode' that lets you set the idle speed to 2000 rpm and the ability to have the fog lights on at the same time as the bright headlights. I'm considering buying the Baja Designs driving/spot/flood lights that fit in the fog light location and are turned on by using the gog light switch. This would help with having my relatively weak stock headlights on at the same time as my BD lights for high speed (75-80 mph) driving across Texas late at night to help spot those critters on the road. Anybody using those BD lights in the fog light location?

John. Those Amber BD lights look great. Do they fucntion exactly like the factory, meaning, they work off the stock fog light switch?
