Hi Guys!

I'm new here and am hoping someone can answer/help figure out what's happening with the truck I just purchased. I get in, put the seat belt on, start the truck and about 10 seconds after its running, I'll get four chimes with no dash warnings then all is good. I've done the "Seatbelt chime deactivation" and still get the four chimes 10 seconds after start. I did only receive the "gray-chip" key and no fob when I purchased the truck so I'm not sure if its looking for the fob or what? everything else works great. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the Chrysler website and put your vin in where it says equipment listing and read your build sheet, that will tell you if you have the immobilization feature or not, so you’ll know if you need the fobs or not.

Just about every Mopar after 2005 has SKIM (2008 is guaranteed), if he has a gray key, that is a chipped key which the PCM will recognize if programmed to the vehicle. If it didn't recognize it he would've locked the PCM by now and wouldn't be able to drive it. It sounds like standard seat belt chime, did you get the final chime when you performed the deactivation? Sounds like it didn't take.

My guess is the TPM (basically tire pressure sensors) My 2008 would chime once for each low pressure tire OR if I had the tires rotated and the technician didn't re-learn the new position of the tire (left front to left rear for example) it would happen every time. Good luck, I could be totally wrong here. Most times but not always the low tire pressure light in the display would light up as well.

Thanks for the input. The dealership found the key fob and it still chimes four times about 10 seconds after start. I'm thinking that because there are after market wheels that "Midnight" might be onto something, although should I be getting a "Tire" amber light as well if the wheels were installed without the sensors?

With TPMS (if working correctly), it lights if the pressure is high or low and blinks if there is a sensor error.
