I've had good luck with my dealer in the past as far as lift & tires go, had an 05 Rubicon and my 12 1500 both on small lifts and 35's and they never batted an eye. Haven't had any issues with the 1500 but the rear differential went to hell in the Rubicon and all they wanted was proof that I'd done the scheduled fluid change (even though the technician commented on how clean it was). I told them to look in their system because I bought the fluid from them, they did and I paid $50 IIRC for $2400+ in parts and labor. I'll ask them before doing anything, hopefully they'll give me some leeway.

I'll definitely be towing. Does the lift create significant issues when towing?
Big time is the correct answer. Why lift when it's not needed. I consider lifted rigs to be redneck stupid unless you are going swamping or cross creeks regularly when towing.

I own a 15 2500 with Cummins 6.7 that I had full delete done on. I get 14.7 mpg towing a 13K toy hauler and near 30 mpg unloaded. I change the "tune" when towing or not towing and have had no issues. The full price of all the mods cost around 3K and was done at a local speed shop. I would start shopping round now for that full delete and never look back. I have had my truck in my Dodge dealer many times and not one word about the delete so far.

Question: How well do the OEM ball joints & level kits play together?
I've read in a lot of instances where these level kits shortened the life span of the factory ball joints in half!

Have any of you Gents experienced this issue in person?

I myself: Have no intentions of adding larger wheels & tires.
I have the 20x9 - - 285/60R20 combo now, even though I have a desire for a wider wheel/tire combo.
I do realize I am one of the small % of HD2500 owners whom think like this.

All fun and games until you get the death wobble. Why I traded for a new truck as the DW was back after 20K miles. Bigger tires and lifts wear out the front ends of these trucks. Jeeps too. The stock parts are questionable from day one. Pencil joints can be failing right from factory as I have seen them on stock trucks bad with 500 miles on them-Jeeps. These are Rubicons. Add lift and big tires and they fail even faster. I was surprised when I a bought the new truck (Extended warranty 8 yr 85K)- " FCA is ok with running tires 2 sizes larger with no lift for full warranty- That equals 35" tires on my truck. I was surprised as I only ran 35's on my last truck with a 3" lift and I had nothing but front end problems. I traded at 87K on my 04. AT 67K and 7 years my dealer replaced about every part on the front end of that truck under warranty. 20K later the DW was back. But new brakes on her and I right wheel hub assembly and still had the DW. The said to replace the Sway Bay for $300 now. They took my Heavy Duty Sway Bar off and replaced it with a crap stock one 20K ago and it is failing again? I traded as I had zero confidence a sway bar was going to fix the DW this time. Oil pan was also rotting out on the truck which was going to be 2K to repair. If you push on the bottom of the pan it seeps oil.

The death wobble had a lot to do with the five link front suspension the pre 2013 trucks had. Hence the reason why it was changed to a three link in 2013. The three link style dramatically reduced the chances of it happening.

The Radius Arm trucks also have larger ball joints, crossover steering with larger TRE's, a stronger track bar, and larger steering box. The entire front end of the 2013/14+ trucks is a major step up from the previous generations.

Glad I traded up. The death wobble is no fun. I ran lower air pressure which also makes it worse. The dealer said FCA is OK with leveling kits too. No lifts and only going up 2 sizes in tire which is 35

After a combined 26 years of Military and Law Enforcement I decided a long time ago that I don't mind rednecks so much. Hell I'm sure you could find plenty of people who would tell you I'm one myself.

I've had a love affair with big tires and lift kits since the original Bigfoot got national attention and I had a nice collection of Stompers I played with for hours on end. At this point I don't reckon I'm gonna grow out of it lol. That said, after looking at a lot of pics I believe a leveling kit and 35's are in my future for this truck, same as my 2012 & 2013.

Congrats, great looking truck. Let us know if we can help with your plans.

Also just to go back to the lift and tire question you had. I'll give you my experience with my old 2013 F250 Powerstroke. It had a CAI, deleted, and tuned with a 6" lift and 37's with 3.55's. I towed a Mustang that was around 3300lbs on a car trailer a few times for over an hour and pulled some decent sized enclosed trailers that were loaded up on 2 hour trips. Not a single issue and it never felt like it needed more gear. I put the truck in tow haul and my programmer in tow haul. I didnt see what gears you have and how heavy and far you plan to tow but hopefully my experience helps.
