I just picked up a set of 09 3/4 ton wheels for my 14 and I need to switch out the tpms sensors to the newer style so can use them as winter wheels. Anyone had issues using aftermarket?

Nope but OEM are pretty cheap. I bought a new set off eBay for $40.

Go OEM, I had nothing but trouble with aftermarket sensors working with the 7" EVIC.

Me too. I put them in myself and my TPMS worked perfect about 10' later.

We’ve had a lot of problems with aftermarket tire pressure sensors. Especially on the newest trucks.

Bought new tires and wheels, and wanted to keep the stockers intact. Dunno what they put on the new hoops, but they synced up before I got the truck home, and haven't had an issue one.

I get the hate on cheap Chinese ****, but to be honest the OEM ones are likely just that.

Reason for asking is the 09 wheels I picked up have the older aluminum stem tpms sensor and mine has the rubber stem. I.e. newer style. I'd leave the aluminum ones in but they are a different frequency.

I ran aftermarket sensors when I bought some used rims and tires off of Craigslist. Wanted to keep my stockers intact. Think I paid about $40 shipped for all 4. Installed them myself and had no issues. 2016 2500

I've got a 2015 RAM 3500 Dually. My inner left dually when flat. When having it repaired the tech broke my TPMS. I ordered a new one. Didn't install it until I needed new tires. Now it's installed but still, I get NO reading on my TPMS screen. I was told "it would take a day or two to kick in." It's still not showing any reading for that one tire. Is there something I need to do like a reset on my system or do I must I dismount the tire and replace it with another unit? Thanx

Mine kicked in within 100 feet of the tire shop. There is a tool that must be waved in front of new sensors to turn them on. They are off while sitting on the shelf so the battery doesn’t die. If it wasn’t turned on it won’t work and if it was turned on when you bought it, it might be dead.

I took my truck to my tire guy and he put a meter on the sensors I bought and they are not the correct unit even though the dealer I bought them from says they are. Their advertisement reads "for a 2015 RAM 3500 Dually" but it's not correct. So, my tire guy is going to order up the correct units and I'm hoping to get a refund on the ones that I bought from Mopar. Thanx
