Although aware of the approximate maximum bed payload recommended for the latest model Power Wagon, one 72 mile home to store trip wins out versus taking two trips when stocking up with a ton of fuel for the winter. Attached is my Power Wagon pictures with 1 ton of wood pellets bags within the enclosed bed.

Note: The aftermarket tires are Load Range E at the original tire psi specifications. No issues with the extra weight in the bed. Barely noticeable other than slightly firmer around mountain corners.

Under the exact same conditions, tire psi, and route as last year with the OEM Load Range D tires the truck rolled and swayed precariously back and forth especially around each mountain road corner.KIMG0492.jpg KIMG0493.jpg

I installed the air bags already. They work good just need an onboard air compressor and the remote valves for the bags. Do the Duratracs come in an E load rating. I've always ran the BFG KO IIs.

I belived they do, but I am thing of the BFG's when I replace them. I want something that dose well on the hwy and off road with good tire ware. I really like my truck but don't use it off road much.

Had a rock caused blowout today on my 2016 trailer on an extremely remote stretch of washboard light gravel road that I was towing behind my Power Wagon some 70 miles outside of Moab. Didn't notice the lost tire until my dash warning alerted me to check the trailer wiring due to it sheared off the brake wiring. Replaced the OEM Corovan Load Range C Wild Trac LT tire with a BFG KO2 tire on a new wheel. Discount Tire in Grand Junction had it ready in 15 minutes. Nothing was left of the Corovan tire, but some of its steel cabling wrapped around the axle.

The Duratrac and KO2 brand are good for my lighter duty 1/2 ton pickup and trailers on gravel roads, but I am sticking with a much tougher mud terrain additional ply (plies) tire carcass on the heavier Power Wagon. My OEM Duratrac flat tire punctures both occured on very nice paved roads with quarter size pebble punctures between the tread. I don't think of driving across central Iowa and in downtown Butte, Montana as being as rough terrain, but that was too much for the Duratrac tires. Better to have run inner tubes with a patch kit then the Duratrac tires.

I like the look of your trailer tire:cheers:, looks a lot safer than a LT tire. Looks like you where lucky and did not damage your TT, I have seen some real bad damage TT from tire blow outs. The KO2 do come in E rated and I thought they were good tires. What do you have on your PW?

No trailer tire worries when your running on steel. LOL

My Power Wagon has Cooper ST Maxx 285 75R17 load range E with the same spare for a 5 tire rotation.

I run goodyear trailer tires on my trailers and never had a problem. It is the only trailer tire made in USA. Almost all others come from China with questionable quality control.

I also do not run trailer tires, only LT tires, current trailer tire has a #3195 capacity on a single axle #6000 cap. trailer.

Truck looks good with that load in it, can't really tell it is loaded down.

I also run Goodyear Marathon ST trailer tires on my boat trailer vs LT on my other trailers due to it having surge brakes. Can't run a friction sway control on it.

Goodyear has a January 9, 2014 Product Service Bulletin on their ST tires which states that for speeds in excess of 65 mph up to 75 mph to over inflate their ST tires by 10 psi above the maximum cold pressure stated on the tire. Had not seen any other manufacturer at that time which recommended exceeding 65 mph on any of their ST tires, therefore, I went LT on most of my trailers to tow at the 80 mph speed limits on the roads near my home. As of 2015 there are now ST tires which have a maximum speed rating of 81 mph.

So I’m going with the Imagine MK2850 TT. I’m curious if it would be worth upgrading to the KO2 for example vs the tires that are on it. Your thoughts?

Unless you have issues with the trailer tires, I would just stick with the ones that are on it.

Carry the spare within the truck bed. My 2016 Travel Trailer came with a tire rack mounted to the bumper. Both my tire rack and another brand of one on a travelling companion's entirely different trailer snapped the welds while it was towed on some washboard dirt roads. Even though I informed them that mine had broke and came loose, they learned by losing the spare entirely.
