MDS help......

This may be a dumb question but going to ask anyway lol.

I trade my 2015 1500 in for a 2018 1500. One thing that I have noticed is that my 2015 would kick into Eco mode and a light would come on.

I have not seen this even once on the 2018. Is this normal or do I need to do something?

There is a setting in your stereo to show or hide the ECO mode icon in your cluster.

G-Ride is correct. Go in your UConnect Settings and look around. The setting is disabled from the factory I believe.

But understand that all the Eco light means is that your driving habits at that moment in time were conducive for better fuel mileage, it makes no changes to the engine and is independent of MDS.

So there is no way to know that it is working.

I can hear when my MDS kicks in because of my loud exhaust. I can also tell when I accelerate to pass, there is a slight surge when MDS turns off.

Not sure if surge is the right word... I can just tell when I give it gas and the trans kicks down.

Are you concerned that it wouldn't be working? I turn mine off every time I start my truck.

Yeah. I have no idea if it is working. I’ve had the truck almost 5 months and only put 1000 miles on it. Just wonder if it is working.

I know when the MDS kicks in, my 2018 5.7 with 3,000 vibrates.. The dealer says its a normal complaint.. Anyone else have the same issue?

I’ve had my truck for about 5,500 miles now and have become much more sensitive to the MDS. Besides the ECO sign, I couldn’t really tell for a while when it was on/off, but now it’s pretty evident. Mine doesn’t necessarily vibrate, but there is a hint of very light vibration when minimally speeding up before it turns off. It seems pretty normal to me considering there are less cylinders trying to push the truck when it’s on. Is your vibration heavy and constant?
