started a restoration on my wife 1992 D 350 , just got it back from paint, had Macco do it, now, starting to put it all back together and start on the interior. Just got the grill back on, next, I have to pull the fenders off and replace the welting on it,....Macco did a good job on the paint and what little body work that was needed, BUT, they did a **** poor job putting back together, lights on rear fenders not hooked up, front marker light got broke, just a bunch of little things. This was my father in-laws truck, he bought it in 1994, less than 50 K miles when he bought it. It;s been sitting outside for the past 15 years at our river pad in Parker AZ,.....I bought an '05 for MY daily driver, so my wife decides SHE wants a truck !...........

Congrats. I'll be doing the same as soon as I have a motor to work with....

did you look into the ****** system? not sure if they have mopar compatibility but for my Chevelle, was really easy.

no i didn't look at the ****** system. i just looked at fitech since they sold a complete kit. plus they were on sale for 10% off at one of the local performance places. i almost wish i had got an in tank pump mainly for simplicity. choosing where to mount the inline pump was a bit of a pain just because of how big the thing is and trying to keep it withing 3ft of the sending unit. there is no real low spots on the frame within 3ft of the of the sending unit. under the cab is about the only place the frame really drops below the tank but it is about 4ft from the tank. i ended up deciding to just mount it on the passenger side frame rail. it really doesn't seem very noisy. i really can't wait to see about playing with it more. i really wish i had a shop so i could have played with it longer instead of working out side in the rain.

i got to adjust it and play with the tuning a bit. definitely way more drivable now. just had to adjust the throttle plates which seems like a very common issue. still got a few more settings to play with to make things better but its a start. definitely not as self learning as i thought it would be.

also got a remote start installed and hooked up today. it wasn't working great at first but seems like it is working a lot better now. think i may have a bad engine block ground. going to try fixing that tomorrow along with some more fine tuning on the fitech

spent the day installing then removing the 92 radiator support I tried to make work on my 73 D100. it's close but doesn't work. Frame mount / bushing location is different, headlights are in a different location, lower valence attachment sites are different, hood latch mech location and mount is different. Spent the rest of the afternoon straightening the 73 radiator support with a come along, a tree, hammer, dolly, cutting wheel and welder.

finished the evening by rebuilding a 92 Ram 150 wiper mechanism. surprisingly under engineered yet used for decades by dodge. 2 metal bars and plastic nylon joint bushings that allow the wiper arms to pivot back and forth. the original bushings crumbled as soon as I touched them. new bushings installed with silicone grease.

it was a good day.

just as things were starting to feel real good with the fitech had to start all over lol. had to update it to the latest software to calibrate the coolant temp sensor to read accurately. it was reading about 2* below operating temp so it is running in warm but not full operating temp range. i still also got to go through all the settings and re-adjust things and set all the settings again. definitely need to get the cold start settings fixed so that i can actually use the remote start. at least with the latest software i should hopefully be good for a while.

whichever route you go i recommend going with a in tank pump. both seem like they are about the same price for the options. fitech does offer a cheaper model without some of the options like timing control. i know i was considering getting the system with timing control but it really just seemed like too much work for all the extra it would cost. you pretty much need to spend another $200 or so on a new distributor with a phasable rotor. and realistically if your are going to spend all that money you could almost buy a magnum engine and a hotwire harness for the same price and get a engine that is just as tuneable but have real fuel injection and not TBI

I should have probably done this from the beginning but finally adjusted the throttle cable. TPS reading went from 80 to 95 when on the floor. Doubt it will really help performance but figured it probably needed to be done. Gas peddle feel a lot more different with no slack in the cable.

even though there are evils involved, I've always wished there was a simple throttle by wire adjustable set up that could be swapped in for these pre hemi motors.

I really just see something like that being more work that it would be worth on something this old. It could be done but cable is so much simpler. I could probably build a bracket that would shorten the distance that throttle needs has to travel to do the same amount of work. I was thinking about making one so I can keep the throttle peddle lower but still get a full range

Working on dil shadow box.
I hate football of any kind. Far as that goes I’m not a fan of sports. When the Texas Rangers lost the WS and then got rid of the good players I stopped watching baseball.

didn't watch football. raining all day so took the dogs out to the workshop. Rebuilt the door latch mechanisms with new bushings as well as the wiper actuators with new bushings on both D100s. Dogs slept. Then sat down and had a black IPA and watched the rain, wishing I still smoked my pipe. then got back to work and welded a patch panel on the inner door of my 72 to cover up the old speaker hole.

I know technically D100s are not gen 1 rams but my 73 is a 92 Ram 150 in 73 sheetmetal.

they are all the same in my opinion. 72-93 most stuff interchanges.

used my truck to pick up a free lawn tractor for my aunts cat rescue. it needs a bit of work but nothing i can't take care of. it at least runs, drives and cuts as is. might just have a possible oil leak to look at and mower deck mount to fix.

had to change the TPS on the 81 the other day. at least it was covered under warranty. still having the new TPS sticking at 0.5% which is causing some funny stuff but way better than the old TPS that liked to stick wherever it was left after punching the gas. still working on fine tuning things. finally broke down and posted on the fitech group on facebook to see about getting it to start better when cold. definitely feel like things are starting to head in the right direction. i guess we will see what happens over the next couple days because it is suppose to get pretty cold around here

Installed a coolant heater. When I removed the plug on the bottom of the engine block to install the heater hose fitting no coolant came out. Thought for a moment I pulled the wrong plug but turns out it was just clogged up with sediment. Now with the heater installed it should start it when it gets below zero.
