I’m like a kid waiting for that to come out. As mines getting ready to get lifted lol. I may wait a year though still once it comes out just because I wanna be cheap

I'm not sure. My 06 was the least reliable truck I've ever owned by miles. Regardless of that because I got so much more truck for the money I bought another in 2011 that has been my most reliable ever and my favorite truck ever. Bought a replacement in 2017 that I wont drive too far from home because its had 3 break downs in its 3140km life so 2 bad ones out of 3 and the new ones priced similar to the other big domestics. Not saying no, but it may be a hard sell. If I put some miles on the 17 and it turns out the bugs are all worked out the odds will improve.
Yikes! You are more faithful than I would have been!

I love my 14 2500 Laramie. It has been relatively trouble free. I have only put around 65,000km (39,000mi) on it but I'm glad I gave Ram a try.

Like others, I will run my 18' until it no longer makes me smile, then I'll start looking for something that does. That's gonna be a few years down the road, so if one of the other brands makes a better mousetrap by then, well..... I'll buy it, but today, the RAM is the truck of choice....

I plan on keeping my truck for a 10+ years unless it becomes a money pit. So in 2023 I think it would depend what the trucks look like then and what bs is on them for emissions and efficiency tech. I would like to get diesel next time but all the emissions equipment on the new diesels is IMO a ticking time bomb to have to spend thousands.

As far as my truck goes, I'm pretty happy with what I've got except for the 3.55s. I'm also glad I have the 6 speed for ease of maintenance. With the proper tuning there's nothing wrong with the 6 speed IMO.

If the trucks have a bunch of emissions and efficiency related tech that can break down, I may track down a rust free Cummins truck from the south and have it restored.

Not having to repair the same thing multiple times due to having a good service department has helped and they know I can't be down long and usually get me on the road again quick. I'll never set foot in my local gm dealer still after more than 20 years they pissed me off so bad and I've had bad luck with all, but 1 ford dealer as far as having something repaired properly. 4 dealerships and 6 trips for the same power window as an example. My fords would have been good And I'd probably still be driving one if not for that. Shows how important a service department can be to a brand.

I've had a Chevy, Ford and even an International Pickup! When I bought my first Ram.....I was hooked and I am now on my third. Ill be retiring in a few years and hope this will be the last one that I have to buy. If not it will more than likely be another Ram. I'm very partial to the 4th Generation body style and If I buy another it will more than likely be another 4th Gen. Who knows....In a few years I may grow to like the 5th Generations.

I'll probably try to keep my truck for at-least 10 years, but in all honesty a Hellcat Ram (TRX IF it has the full power numbers) would probably tempt me a whole lot sooner than that.
I can't even imagine a Ram with a full power Hellcat, with such a light rear end. My 1998 Ram had a 440 and it was all I could do to keep rear tires on it.

Id definitely get another ram down the road. Been chevy guy since i started driving and then got sick of the same old gm issues and switched to suoer duty, which i loved but was unnecessary for me and now im in a ram, which i chose because they are the best looking trucks currently imo, and the 5.7 is a pretty impressive engine. I did like the interiors of some fords but not a fan of the exterior styling, and same with newer gm’s, And the 5.3 is so underpowered compared to fords 5.0 and the hemi 5.7. And i couldnt justify the cost of a gm 6.2.

In terms of new tech i like new in cabin tech. Would really prefer that drivetrain tech stay at a minimum tho. But thats just me.

After all the **** with my 1500, at 140,000 miles I am keeping it for my kiddo who is a barrel racer and doubled down on an ‘18 CTD 2500.
Neither Ford or Chevy even got a sniff. When I decided to buy I started with local dealers who wanted me to ‘come on over and check out our lot’ but no effort to find the truck I was actually ASKING for. Anyway, a $76 flight to Denver, a $36 shuttle and $86 Marriott in Golden, CO was a small price to pay for the truck I wanted and thee price I liked. Jason and Dominic at Christopher’s in Golden were awesome to work with.

I leased my '05 Dakota from those guys - won't go back. Glad you had a good experience with them, because I didn't. And I ditched the Dak after two years. I loved my '97, but the '05 was a disappointment -which wasn't their fault, of course.

Its early as ive only had my 2016 ram big horn for approximately 2 months but I am absolutely glad i traded in my 2014 silverado for this truck. Its such a joy to drive and i just love it. If it last me in the long run, i will buy another ram without hesitation

This is my second Ram - I went ahead and took the 2019 plunge. Owned my first Ram for 6 years and it was reliable and trouble-free. But vehicles start to need a lot of work when they start crossing the 6,7,8 year mark and their value gets exponentially less each year after that. So, I traded in the mint condition, low mileage 2012 for a respectable number before it started a rapid decline in value. I decided to lease this one because I don't put a lot of miles on it and like the newer features that come with any new vehicle no matter the make. So far, as long as I stay with a truck I'll stay with a Ram.
I'll start off by stating that I say this in a non-confrontational manner and not looking to debate....But for those of you putting down or being hesitant about the new technologies, remember - many of you/us drove vehicles without delayed wipers, with floor-button hi-beam switches, with no oil-life indicators, with mechanical HVAC knobs and slide levers, with roll-down windows and manual locks, without keyless fobs and remote start and the list goes on - and I'm not talking 60 years ago - I mean within the last 30 years. Guess what? All the new technology that we're used to today was "new" and untrusted. So I welcome the new technology. I don't need or even use some of it, but I welcome it. It won't stop evolving, so embrace it...

The "issue" with the new tech is it is a PITA, have you seen the prcedure just to check the level of fluid in the 8 speed? Have you seen the temps many guys are running because of the heat exchange system in tranny and diffs? They not only heat the fluid, but they keep heating the fluid to go past optimum viscosity for a long life transmission. And now you are basically sitting on a battery and have a hybrid systems to give you "torque". And they need two fans to keep them cool, nah what can go wrong? but is that what you would opt for, as opposed to simply have a better gear to get off the line torque? These are not the same thing as interminably windshield wipers. They are things that can lesson the life of the truck and cost a fortune to fix out of warranty. But hey, many people like all this stuff, but some guys like myself have had buzzard's luck with tech and having **** break, so i'll pass on it.

Good luck with that lol!

Seems like some of this "new and improved" stuff is so the manufacturers can meet federal mandates on safety, emissions, etc. It's too bad, because some of this is counter-intuitive. I am way more distracted from driving by trying to sweet talk my truck into doing something for me when a button in my old truck was soooo much easier....

Not sure I'd take the plunge on a 2019 until at least 3years of production mainly because my faith in FCA is questionable. I'm not worried about the hemi or zf tranny but more worried about everything else. If I had to absolutely get a 2019 now, it'd be a bighorn hemi without the etorque or a rebel hemi without etorque and without air suspension.

Really happy with my 2017 bighorn as it has all the options I wanted especially now that I have upgraded my headlights/fogs. I also found a 2018 sport grill that I am super excited to have painted so I can install it. My photochop attempt looks like this..

IF and when I am in the market for a new truck yes I will be looking at Ram, but I am not brand loyalty and came to Ram from a F250 Ran had a much better ride and a better felling motor. My F250 was a 4X4 with 3.73 and the 6.2 motor, my Ram is a Power Wagon (no competition). I would like a New Jeep Gladiator but I probably need a bigger truck.
