I replaced the HVAC module today with a 2018 and it did not fix the issue. There is still a mismatch between the slider and the blend door
I have a couple more things to try, I'll update once I get around to testing.

Mpgrimm2 was kind enough to to test my new module to confirm it functions properly, it does. Had him build a new HVAC harness with ATC provisions to replace my Infotainment harness. This is not yet installed.

My first test will be reinstalling the new HVAC module and configuring the truck for something other than single zone MTC. Once it takes, I will then configure the truck for single zone MTC and see if that resolves the issue. The thought is something could be off with the configuration? It's long shot.

Regardless of outcome, I will then install the necessary components and configure for single zone ATC. No idea if this will provide a solution, but what's couple hundred more dollars at this point, lol (have I mentioned I'm an engineer plagued with the disease of perfectionism??)? Tried to tell myself I could live with it, but I keep tinkering with it because it drives me nuts.

Doing this crap in my driveway so I'm waiting for our Missouri weather to warm up a bit. I'll keep you posted.

For curiosity, can you post your radio PN, software version, and application version? Was your truck originally an RA1?

My truck was originally a 8.4 nav vp4 with single zone (2014 sport). Radio PN is 68331631AI (uaq) build date of 8/2018 and app version of 21.9

It is possible my radio has been altered by who I bought it from that's a whole other issue (multiple posts in the conversion thread) and it maybe replaced again as it's crashing randomly and not booting at vehicle start but this issue has been present before the radio started acting up . Otherwise radio had functioned within normal except for the crashing rebooting and not coming back on until I smack it

I will leave the new module in and see what happens. Thanks for coming back to reply I thought you ghosted.

Let me know if I can be of any assistance. My symptoms are identical right down to the pressing and holding to make the blender travel fully and the skipping/ large increments of the arrow movement on the screen until you get to either end where it behaves normal for 2-3 clicks and barely budges

Np, somehow I missed post 59?

Yes, I've seen your other posts in the conversion thread.... connecting the dots now. Folks can say what they will about Infotainment, but that's one of the reasons I bought from them (plus, a year ago, these things were very difficult to find); heck, they even upgraded me from a UAS to a new UAQ because they were behind on shipments. After trying three different radios in the truck, it's hard for me to believe it's a radio issue and not a truck issue. All part of the"fun".

Well, I tried everything listed above, and the problem is still there.

When trying to run single zone ATC, the slider will span the entire range, but anything above "low" ( full cold) goes to full hot (with auto toggled off).

Hold tight, going to try again tomorrow. Was having an issue with the ambient temperature sensor ( leave those settings alone!) that another member just helped me resolve. This would have impacted the function of the ATC. More testing tomorrow.

Fingers crossed, everything seems to be functioning properly with single zone ATC. I now have full control over the temp blend door actuator with "auto" deselected.

So what was the fix? Just deselecting auto?

Installing the necessary sensors and harness, and configuring for single zone ATC. The reason it didn't work yesterday was due to losing my ambient temperature signal ( dumb move on my part), once that was corrected I was able to enable single zone ATC successfully.

For some reason my truck does not like single zone MTC using the external HVAC control module necessary for the 8.4" stereos. Tried three radios , two different harness, and three different control modules.

Could you summarize what year your truck is again and what radios/HVAC modules were being used?

Sure thing, this will be lengthy....

2015 CC Express, 5.7, 6 speed. Originally RA1 w/ 7 speed HVAC blower.

Upgraded to an Infotainment UAQ kit. Early kit (Dec '17) with new radio 68331631AH and HVAC module 68268186AA. Realized the temp control issue in spring of '18 (on screen slider is biased to hot, full cold with the slider was still mostly hot)

Based on work by other forum members, I swapped out the supplied HVAC control module for PN 68366552AA. This did not correct the temperature problem. This was purchased used on eBay.

I then purchased a new 68366552AA, as I wanted to be sure there wasn't an issue with the module, it didn't help.

Tried UAS radios PN 68274757AI and 68331635AH and saw the same response. These were both supplied by Infotainment.

From there I decided to try and see if ATC would fix the issue. To avoid another connector interface, Mpgrimm2 built a complete harness with ATC provisions; this replaced the Infotainment harness. Once installed, along with the necessary temperature and humidity sensors, I confirmed single zone MTC control was the same as before. Once reconfiguring for single zone ATC (using Alpha, changing to dual zone ATC first), the on screen temperature slider properly controlled the temperature blend door actuator. First time since using the rotary knob on the original bezel!

It's still a head scratcher. Throughout the process I've ruled out the radio, harness, and HVAC control module. All HVAC actuators would calibrated properly using Alpha, and no codes were being set to either the BCM or the HVAC (climate) control module.

Thanks Ck.
Definitely nothing concrete as there have been a handful of people with the same UAx issue (2-3) that wasn't corrected with a 2018 HVAC module.
It also seems that the single zone ATC configuration may be immune to this problem. I don't think anyone that did the single zone ATC mod has had it happen.

M² Mods.

It may be worth noting that dual zone ATC provided proper temperature blend door actuator function as well.

I just ran across this thread. I bought an Infotainment.com 4C radio, and at first my wife and I couldn't figure out why the cab wasn't getting warmer or colder than it should. We realized if we pushed the hard buttons enough times it seemed to get better. Is the module that's being referred to the blend door actuator behind the glove box? Sounds like from the past few pages of posts the 2018 module mostly works? I wouldn't mind doing the single zone ATC (should work well with remote start) if that corrects it as well. Looks like I'll hunt around for the pertinent threads about ATC conversion. Happy I found this thread as well.

I just ordered up the heater module 68366552AA off ebay (new). My truck is a Canadian truck that was imported in to the US not long before I bought it (if that matters). So I hope that fixes it for me. I already tried the unplug battery trick twice with no luck.

Just wanted to post that i completed the UAQ upgrade to my 2014 RAM 1500 and have the issue with the temperature control. I bought and installed the new HVAC module 68366552AA and unfortunately I still have the issue. Manual temperature control only.

You're not alone. The only way I was able to resolve the issue was to convert to ATC.

I don't see a setting for Auto on/off on the radio or in the AlfaOBD settings.

When you set it to single zone ATC using alpha. You should see the temp where the temp slider is. You’re still has the black dot so it’s not enabled and or it has not been sent by the BCM to the radio.

Yours should look like this. Once the single zone activates the auto will pop up.

Did you enable the temp sensor and ATC like it says in the AlfaOBD thread?
